Easy Venison and Rice is a quick and simple meal made with fried ground meat, onions, garlic, carrots, potatoes, and rice and then lightly doused with soy sauce.
For this recipe, I used venison, but you can use beef, chicken, turkey, or any other type of ground meat that you prefer or have on hand. You can also use stew meat instead of ground meat. Cook the stew meat separately from the rice and veggies. This will prevent overcooking. Then combine them and enjoy.
If you want to spice it up a bit, you can add your favorite seasoning. Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes, turmeric powder, cumin, curry, and paprika are all great added to this dish. You can also put a little cheese on top if you want. I like cheddar, fiesta, or Pepper Jack cheese. You can also add more veggies. You can not go wrong with adding any type of peppers or mushrooms.

This recipe can be a side dish or the main course. I love to eat it plain or with a big pot of slow-cooked pinto beans and golden buttery cornbread. My kids love this rice with macaroni and cheese and a fat cathead biscuit; no actual cats included.
What are cathead biscuits, you ask? A cathead biscuit is a regular biscuit but larger than normal-sized. The name implies that the biscuits are as big as a cat's head. Yummy!
