BBQ Venison Meatballs Recipe
Meatball Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of ground venison
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, cooked
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 large onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
Meatball Sauce Ingredients:
- 1 cup grape jelly
- 12 ounces of chili sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Getting It Done:
- First, let's make the sauce. Add 1 cup of grape jelly to a medium-sized saucepan. Break it up using a fork or whisk.
- Then add 12 ounces of chili sauce, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne, and a 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- Mix the ingredients well and heat on low heat. Stir often and continue heating until everything is melted and incorporated well.
- Remove the pan from heat and set it aside for later.
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
- In a large bowl, add 2 pounds of ground venison (or other ground meat), 1 cup of cooked long-grain white rice, 1 large egg, 1/2 large onion, 2 diced garlic cloves, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients well, but do not overmix. If we overmix them, the meatballs will be tough. We want tender meatballs.
- Shape into 20 meatballs and place them in a 9" x 13" baking dish.
- Pour the meatball sauce over the venison meatballs and bake for 20 minutes or until done.

If you don't want to bake these meatballs, you can put them on the grill or smoker. They turn out amazingly!
You can eat these BBQ Venison Meatballs plain or serve over rice or pasta or with rolls. You can't go wrong serving them with potatoes of any kind either. Try them with french fries, crispy fried potatoes, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, or potato salad. Salad, pasta salad, barbeque baked beans, and macaroni and cheese are also great sides with these meatballs.
