Zenith, Pilitar and Catrick take over BryceBGourmetN for the Halloween Feast

This week on Eating Through the Alphabet, things took a spooky turn for the letter H!

During Thursday's episode, The Hendersons were taken over by witch Zenith and warlock Pilitar (don't ask where his name came from). And their little dog, Teddy, was turned into a cat named Catrick!

How did this happen you ask? Well it is almost Halloween...but let us take you back to the beginning of how this idea even came about.

Bryce and Val were racking their brains for ideas for the letter H when during one brainstorming session, Bryce had an aha moment. Val mentioned making a dish that was Halloween-themed when Bryce took it a few steps further.

"Why don't we make a Halloween Feast for the letter H?" Bryce asks. A confused Val then says, "But I actually meant let's just make one Halloween-themed dish."

The back story to her confusion is that Val usually has to fix Bryce's mistakes in the kitchen so imagine having to fix multiple mistakes for a feast instead of one for a simple dish. Sheesh!

Val eventually agreed and also came up with an entire menu for the Halloween Feast.

First, they planned to start with a cocktail: the Roscato Spider Sangria. All they needed was a bottle of Roscato, black licorice to make the legs of the spider, orange juice and two apples.

From there, they would create the appetizers: Pumpkin Deviled Eggs and Bacon-Potato Corn Chowder in a Pumpkin Bowl. For the deviled eggs they needed eggs, mayonnaise, relish, paprika (to make the eggs look like pumpkins) and fresh chives (to make the stems of the pumpkins). For the chowder they needed bacon, potatoes, cream-style corn, evaporated milk, onions and two small pumpkins for the bowls.

The Halloween Feast’s entree was the Eyeball Pasta, which is basically spaghetti. The entree consisted of multiple steps, which included preparing the meatballs (for the eyeballs) before the spaghetti. For the actual eyes, they needed fresh mozzarella cheese and black olives.

Lastly, they made plans to create a Dessert Cemetery, which consisted of brownies (for the foundation), crushed Oreo cookies (for the dirt in the cemetery), Milano cookies (for the headstones), made-from-scratch sugar cookies and pumpkin candy for decorations.

And though these were all ideas from Bryce and Val, Zenith and Pilitar took over their bodies and made the Halloween Feast themselves!

The witch and warlock tried their best to run BryceBGourmetN like Bryce and Val would, but they did find it quite difficult.

There were times when Pilitar wanted to add things into the food that didn’t belong (like roaches) but Zenith would not let him mess up the dishes. Pilitar also got a bit lazy and tried to cheat his way out of making the feast with his hands. He at one point attempted to cast a spell to complete the tasks, but again Zenith interfered and wouldn’t allow it because if they were to be a part of the earthly world, they should do things like mere humans (sounds a lot like BryceBGourmetN to me).

Despite A LOT of hiccups, Zenith and Pilitar pulled off the Halloween Feast for the letter H on BryceBGourmetN. They also quickly gave Bryce, Val and Teddy their bodies back and returned to their world with their cat Catrick after spending half a day in a kitchen.

The entire Halloween Feast took about 15 hours to make, so this week’s video (Part 1) has been split into two parts. In addition to Thursday’s video, a Halloween Special (Part 2) will air on The Hendersons NYC’s YouTube page on Halloween.
