In 2021, Mrs. Claus Goes to a New Home
It took six years and COVID-19 for Mrs. Claus to return. When my mom died, my dad’s life was shattered. They’d been together for 65 years and she was his world; he’d sunk into a deep depression which exacerbated his other health problems. As determined as Mrs. Claus was, hunkered down in her dog-eared box in the storage room, she couldn’t brighten my dad’s spirits come the holiday season.

Thank You
Two Thanksgivings has to be the best part of being married to an American. I never really paid much attention to American Thanksgiving until I started living with an American, but besides the extra turkey and stuffing, the nice part is that it makes me stop and think, another time this season, about the things I'm thankful for - And the thing I'm most thankful for this season, is you - my friends and family.

Our house in the middle of the street
Our home, in the middle of the street One house, 3 cultures Love is in the air, every day, every second, every year, every moment. With all the difficult times life brings every day, our home, our house is our welcoming refuge. For many, the final frontier for hoarders, the hideout for killers and robbers.

"Real" Life Hurts
People say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I would agree. However, oftentimes we judge a picture based on the 0.3 second glance we give it. At first, you may see a happy and joyful mother and daughter enjoying their time on the ocean. With just a quick glance, it looks as though my life is on the up and up. It might appear that I am filled with glee. I may seem as though I have everything put together. I am the strong leader. I am the faithful follower. I am the caring friend, the shoulder to cry on, the one you can depend on.

Fake or Real:
“Let’s get an artificial tree this year,” I blurt out. “They look so real, with lights already installed.” My daughter’s jaw drops and her face rearranges into that, have-you-lost-your-mind expression she has perfected over the past two years as a teenager. “I can’t believe you said that!” she gasps. “Christmas wouldn't be real with a plastic tree and by the way, did you know that the first artificial tree was made by a company who manufactured toilet brushes? Do you really want a giant toilet brush in the corner of the living room?”
