Christmas Spirit
It's the most awesome season! Whenever we've had our fill of turkey and invited the Christmas season appropriately, we're continually urged to get into the Spirit of the Season. This expression is most intensely attached to Christmas specifically, yet it would be difficult to reject that comparative subjects aren't connected to other December occasions. By and large, we're urged to be euphoric, beneficent, liberal, kind, and excusing—which are altogether practices that oppose our slanted reactions to the anxieties brought about by Christmas shopping, occasion travel, and general occasion collaborations. Where does the possibility of Christmas soul come from and for what reason does it pivot such a huge amount on conduct?

The Pandemic — A Trial By Fire & Lessons Learned
This article was previously published on Dr. James Goydos' Medium January 2020. The pandemic has seemingly brought the world to a standstill. A year on, and we seem to hit new grim milestones with each passing day. The United States alone has surpassed 400,000 deaths, and physician burnout is at an all-time high. For those who were already at risk, COVID-19 has added fuel to the fire. However, despite the challenges, we are simultaneously finding new ways to evolve, adapt, and reconnect.

The Finessing of Fate
My Grandpapa was twelve years old when he was sent away. Mind you, being sent away for black people is often an outpouring of love and concern for one's safety. When the need truly arises for someone to go away from the only home they've ever known, it must be something noteworthy. The story goes like this...

Children's Health
One of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received so far in life is the deep honour of being a mother. I have three fabulous children all close in age. The first, my daughter Shenoa, was born when I was 25; the second, my son Ryan, 19 months later, when I was 27; and the third, my daughter Corina, 24 months later, when I was 29. Wow, was I a busy and blessed Mum! As obviously challenging as motherhood is, I felt like I took to it like a duck to water. I felt so immersed in all the loving and tending, and it all felt really natural, like I was born to do this particular job in the world. I loved this new role with all my heart and soul. Did that mean I didn’t make mistakes, sometimes big ones? Of course not! As the proverbial saying goes “Babies aren’t born with a How-To manual!”… so very true. And even if you read the latest and greatest books on mothering (which of course you have no time to read once they’re born), it’s still an untrodden path you are taking. It necessitates a huge, ongoing dose of love, courage, commitment, patience, wisdom, being in the present moment, and doing your best day after day, and night after night after night after night….

Mother’s Sacrifice during an Earthquake
This is a true story of Mother’s Sacrifice during an Earthquake. After the Earthquake had subsided, when the rescuers reached the ruins of a young woman’s house, they saw her dead body through the cracks. But her pose was somehow strange that she knelt on her knees like a person was worshiping; her body was leaning forward, & her two hands were supporting by an object.

A Gift for Emily
It was a few days until Christmas and Emily had yet to buy anything for her family. She wanted to get her mom and dad and baby henry something for Christmas. Her tenth birthday had been in October and she had a lot of money saved from that and allowances, nearly a hundred dollars. Her parents were at work, her grandma, who she was named after, was babysitting, and baby Henry lay sleeping on the floor. He wasn’t that much of a baby anymore though, he was two now and a terror. She needed to go shopping but she knew if she asked her grandma to take them she’d say ‘no’ since Henry was so hard to keep in line at home, let alone at the store. Then she had an idea.
