The Finessing of Fate
My Grandpapa was twelve years old when he was sent away. Mind you, being sent away for black people is often an outpouring of love and concern for one's safety. When the need truly arises for someone to go away from the only home they've ever known, it must be something noteworthy. The story goes like this...

New Haven
A faint sound, a ringing, maybe that of an alarm clock, the old-fashioned kind. The sound of something lost under a pile of whatnots stuck in a corner at the bottom of a basket. One can't really be sure if the sound exists in the real world or in the cobwebbed crevices of the mind. At any rate, there has to be a way to make it stop, to quiet the agonizing droning on of the annoyance.

Manifest it like you mean it!
My confession of a missed opportunity! I've started my journey of enlightenment and I realize there is always good and bad, yin and yang, balance and counterbalance to every aspect of life. Y'all, DMX is gone, forever...
Profound sadness swept over me when I heard the news that DMX died. For the sake of context, DMX, born Earl Simmons was a legend, not just in the culture, but iconic at large. When the beat dropped, everyone who has been alive for the last few decades could add the lyrics, "Y'all gone make me lose my mind, up in here, up in here. Y'all gone make me act a fool, up in here, up in here. Y'all gone make me go all out, up in here, up in here. Y'all gone make me lose my cool, up in here, up in here."

Words to live by
This post may be a bit unpopular or borderline controversial, SO here goes... Every situation you find yourself in, or any scenario you might imagine, has both cause and effect. Yes, something caused it to be, something led you down that path and some action preceded the outcome. That may sound harsh because we don't want to hold ourselves accountable for where we are right now. For others, this is the perfect place to let yourself off the hook for some of the things that have happened in your life that are not of your own doing.

Words to live by
So much power in the words we hear and especially in the words we say. We have learned from childhood upward to speak mantras, cliches, old wives tales, and such. Some are good, some just need to be squashed. You are tailoring your life and now you must be super selective in the words you say. Some words give strength and life, others drain and kill.
