My Grandmother’s Recipe to Unite a Family
As the leaves started to fall from the trees and we were getting ready for winter, the whole family sat around the wood fire oven, speaking way too loudly while sharing some food. My uncles talking about sport and politics and my aunties telling stories and laughing as the kids ran around the house waiting for the food to be served. Those were the most ordinary and extraordinary moments I've shared with my grandmother. I've spent a lot of time at her house in a country town in the South part of Brazil close to the Mountains.

Eco-Friendly Mother’s Day | Sustainable Gifts and Ideas
It’s nearly that time of year again where we can show our beautiful Mother’s how much we love, care and appreciate them. However, due to covid-19, this Mother’s Day may be a little different to previous Mother’s Days. If we can’t share the day with them, we can still bring a smile to their face, in a way Mother Earth would approve and appreciate.

COVID-19 and the Caregiver
Let me tell you a story about the time that I was a caregiver for both of my parents from a past flu season (Mom passed in 2017, and Papa followed her the following year). I will preface by saying that both of my parents had their flu shots a month and a half prior to this particular incident. I did not because those flu shots knock me out for a while, and as the sole breadwinner of the family, I couldn’t afford that at the time.

Stay at Home, Working Mom
Congratulations on being a mother! We can all agree that this is one of the hardest, but rewarding jobs a woman can have! When my son was born, I instantly had a desire to give him everything in the world. I wanted to be a stay at home mom. Unfortunately, I was a single parent in a sticky financial situation. I was fresh out of high school and still working in the food industry. Lucky for me, God answered prayer and soon I was home full time with my son, and earning a salary!

teach your kids without them noticing
This is subtitled indoor version because when I started thinking about this everyone could still go outside. Now we are more restricted I have made this the version for indoors and will do an outside version when we can roam freely again.

Languages Are Not an Issue, But a Tool: Multilingual Children Know How to Use Them
Mamma, mangiamo un gelato? My children are asking me; then, my husband answers Welk ijsje willen jullie? Our kids promptly answer back Wij willen een chocolade ijsje! My husband and I agree to go to eat an ice cream because, as we are on vacation, we are not so strict about junk food.

Struggling with the future
Recently our children had a moment of crisis, well not a real crisis, it was more of an anxiety attack. Over what you may ask? Well, it was about the future. All three of our children are now teenagers, two of them are in high school and one is in middle school [his last year].
