The Many Personalities of the Narcissistic Family
by: E.B. Johnson Narcissistic families are everywhere. Whether you realized the toxic combination of attachment and attack a long time ago, or you’re just waking up — millions of are just coming to terms with the healing we need in order to be happy. Not an Introduction
I know what it’s like. Sitting in class waiting for the teacher to call your name so you can validate your presence even though, in that moment, you’re really wishing you weren’t present. You’ve cleared your throat a hundred times with hopes your voice doesn’t crack at the sound of your name being called, you start to sweat. The class list is in alphabetical order, so one could prepare themselves ahead of time for the dreaded “here”. Unfortunately for me, my name was always followed by catty little giggles from the sidelines. Yes, I was the shy awkward girl that never wanted the spotlight.

MOMMA FOREVER
With COVID-19 causing widespread school closures, children across the country are being given alternate resources, some online, to study outside of the classroom. Temporary solutions being devised for remote education range from online classroom tools like Google Classroom, to Zoom and podcasts by teachers. While parents are adjusting to this new scenario, during this time it’s also important to help kids stay focused on learning and avoid overuse of games, social media, and videos.

Like mother, like...
Mom, To be honest, most times, I hate you. Surprisingly, that was the easiest thing to write. Because of you, I have locked away most of my childhood memories in a very dark place. There is nothing that I can dig up and say “Wow, so glad to remember this!”... It’s actually the opposite. You were never around anyway so it doesn’t really matter - that’s fine. You not being around made me popular anyway. My house was the free, fun house. We could have done whatever we wanted; made me cool, I guess.

Tooth Fairy Hotline
So as a parent sometimes you must think fast on your feet. It was September of 2013 and my daughter had pulled her very first tooth. Not lost, pulled and there is a difference. It sort of stands as a rite of passage for getting more mature and growing up to pull one’s own tooth. My wife and I sang her praises as she was indeed “a big girl now.” After all she did not even cry which again is a monumental feat for a seven-year-old. We were in my Uncles Dental office when she pulled it out, which was the perfect place really. After applying a little gauze, she was proudly going to every patient and employee presenting her tiny perfect little white baby canine to the world. It was a big moment for her, and everyone she showed asked her the same question, “How much is the tooth fairy going to bring you!”

"When the world let me down, Your Blessings is the only hope..."
As a finance manager, I recollect the exercises my mom instructed me when I was youthful and utilized them consistently. I was brought up in a functioning family with working guardians. While my dad worked, my mom settled on choices for me and my sister. My mom profoundly affected my life. I'm composing this post to respect her lessons that assistance me consistently, in all sorts of challenges.

Mom Was Right
My mom spoke in colloquialisms. Considerable wisdom lies in southern sayings, though those insights are often lost on our northern brethren. But we’ll forgive our Yankee friends for many of these maxims are steeped in lore from days of yore. If you said “that hound won’t hunt” to someone who hails from north of the Mason-Dixon Line, they’d likely think you were adopting a rescue dog.

5 life lessons that should be taught to a child early.
I am sure i am correct to say that our childhood days were one of the most precious days when we could have been taught about financial literacy and some other crucial life lessons. Instead of this, quite a number of us were given all we wanted, and even most times our thoughts were being done for us. We played little or no part in our growth and preparation for the life ahead. It is of truth this wasn't in any way our faults and we couldn't have known somethings all by ourselves, we needed to be taught what it is we need to do and how to go about doing those things when they eventually show up, and when we talk about show up, it isn't necessarily at the moment when we were being taught.
