Engaging with Kids
With the increasing exposure of children to screens, engaging them positively has become an everyday challenge. Being a mother of two kids, I was facing the same problem. I wanted to keep them away from the TV, smart phones, and all the other gadgets that they saw me using, but were keen to explore. I observed that many times, my children were spending more than three hours a day in front of one screen or the other. Being aware of the negative effects of extensive screen exposure, I desperately wanted to change the way they entertained themselves. I am sharing my story to help other mothers facing the same problem.

Dear Dad
As you grow, the dynamic between yourself and your parent(s) changes, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. We grow more independent, our tastes start to change, and we gain perspective. The following are letters to my father. Some will be heartwarming while others come from my broken heart.

Auras

This Child of Mine Part 2
It took months. Well, years, really. I knew something was off way before we received her diagnosis. She just wasn't as "normal" as other kids her age. Her speech was delayed (as I've stated in Part 1), she wouldn't make eye contact with me, or respond to her name. Something was just... off.

Newborn Mom: Common Emotional Problems. Top Story - January 2019.
Having a baby is one of the most life-changing events any woman will go through in her life. Even with multiple children, each newborn brought home forces the family dynamic and routine to vastly change. The key to getting through the first few months with a newborn at home is to enlist the help of friends and family that can help to carry on normal household duties and care for other children while you focus on tending to your new baby. It’s even harder for single mothers, who not only have to adjust to the new life but also, have to worry about establishing child support orders. Make sure you prepare well before giving birth, such as writing down a baby registry checklist if it’s your first child. In this way, you only have to think about your child’s well-being and your well-being.

Rainbow Baby
Let's start this post off from the beginning of my journey into motherhood. December 1, 2017, my cycle had been five days late, I took a test before going to work and got those two beautiful pink lines. It had been eight months of my fiancee and I not preventing pregnancy. We were both so excited and scared! I made an appointment to see my doctor that following Monday. Sure enough, doctors confirmed what we already knew... we were going to have out first baby!

The Forgotten One (Ch. 2)
My father started dating my babysitter. Who eventually came to be my stepmother. I am not sure when they decided to move in together. I think it was probably not long after she started taking care of me. I was around two or three when they made the decision to cut my real mother out of my life. Stepmom came into the relationship with her own child from her first marriage. By a man named Joel. I only remember meeting him once when he brought my stepsister a huge Easter basket. I remember living in a greenhouse, going to a school called Richell Special School.
