The College Kit!
Okay. You just finished a four-year stint called high school. You might have a part time job or even no job all. It doesn’t matter right now. All you have in your head is the goal of attaining the best education you can get. After all, you have lofty goals. You may be planning on becoming a doctor, lawyer, teacher, scientist or whatever you want. They all require that you surpass your last school and head to COLLEGE!!

In describing someone, it was once said that someone like that "rarely" came along............ Well, this story is about a gentle, kind and loving soul who DID come along. She was the jewel of my eye and the beating of my heart. She was a person who had a heart that was bigger that all of the 50 states combined. She was my first friend. She was my Mom.

Recently, I discovered something about myself. I can't stick to walls like Spiderman. I can't fly like Superman. I don't even live in a cave like Batman. I have a huge weakness. It is my Kryptonite. I don't think that any other man has this quality. It is not a super strength. It is a super weakness.

Pride (and a Bus Pass) Will Get Me Everywhere!
“Pride goeth before a fall.” So, they say so. Perhaps I am not one to talk, but I can definitely (and easily) relate to this. There have been MANY instances where my pride has gotten in my way. Perhaps, I should have seen the fall coming, but pride always got in my way.

Don't Worry? Be Happy? For What?
A few years ago, I heard the Bobby McFerrin song, "Don't Worry. Be Happy." I thought nothing about it at the time. Nice tune. I was no Bobby McFerrin fan, but I have to admit that he came out with a nice tune. People were singing it and enjoying it as well as they should have. That was way back in 1988. Hard to believe that it was almost ancient history.

Dealing with Senior Moments
I am a native New Yorker. I have lived in this metropolis since I took my very first polluted breath way back in 1956. That is an awfully long time to live in this place. I have seen just about everything happen here except earthquakes and tornadoes. The biggest event that ever happened here occurred on 9/11/01. I won’t go into the horrors of that fateful day, because I don’t want to bring any bad feelings here. Let me try to stay upbeat.
