How Domestic Abusers Get Custody in Family Court
Seven people are in court at the moment for spraying a three-year-old boy with acid as the father wanted to prove that the mother was unfit and unable to care for the child properly and he should have more time with the boy. This may seem very extreme—to hurt your own child to fabricate evidence against a woman to show how much you love the child. However, this is more the norm in Family Court than otherwise, with fathers doing anything they can to hurt the mother of their children.

The Big P... Potty Training
Aside from temper tantrums, potty training has got to be one of the most challenging milestones for toddlers. It takes a lot of patience, focus, and in most cases, bribes to successfully complete potty training. I've had my fair share with not only my son but with my children that I teach. I've heard many people say girls are easier to train than boys and visa versa. In my opinion, they're both difficult, but when they reach the goal, the feeling of being proud is all the same. In this article, I will not only talk about my experiences, but I will offer some tips that will hopefully help along your journey.

Momming Big Style
You know you've been "momming big style" when the first things you notice after opening your eyes are a sick bowl, nit comb and bottle of CALPOL. It used to be a random high heeled shoe, empty wine bottle and sparkly dress. Yet, if someone could tell me why my head still feels groggy and I'm having post event flashbacks, I'd be ever so grateful!

Making a Family Emergency Plan
For Tina and her family, floods were not really a big deal … nor unusual. They haven’t experienced any flooding since the mid-1990s, and that time, the waters inside their one-story modest house were only knee-deep. So when they knew a big storm was hitting the area that particular Saturday in 2008, they didn’t think much of it. Not even when they heard other towns were already submerged in water. Even if worse came to worst, they thought it would be somewhat similar to what they have already experienced. But just after lunch, the waters came rushing in, without much of a warning. The waters forced their way into Tina’s house, and within just a few minutes, the house was filled with dark, murky waters, from the floor up to the ceiling.

Family Court Danger
When a woman bravely flees from an abusive relationship or finds out that her husband has sexually abused her children, she quite reasonably expects that the law will protect her and her children from him. She quickly finds out that this is not the case. Family Courts do not protect women and children from abuse, they protect the abuser, putting the mother and children back in danger and allow the perpetrator to continue his abuse.

It's a Girl=Boy Thing!
It was a usual day. Me and my kids were having our pretend tea party with all the dolls and soft toys. My daughter made all her dollies and other toys sit in a row and neatly placed cups and saucers in front of each of them. She also put plates for the cookies. She then said she is making tea in her kettle which she put on her little gas stove. I casually asked her if she needed her brother to help her. She said in surprise that boys don't enter the kitchen and she continued her play making her brother sit just next to her toys in the tea party! Her answer didn't let the day remain usual for me!

Mommy Moment: Lazy Days
Okay, so first, what is a “Mommy Moment?” These are moments that I feel like many moms (and dads) can relate to, whether they’re good or “bad.” For example, accidentally hitting your kids head on the roof of the car while trying to buckle them into a car seat. Or happy moments like having your child run up and hug you after a bad day. These are the kind of moments that you cherish or make you laugh a few years down the road. Like how Kai (my son) decided to try and take his pants off at the vet. He does plenty of silly things and I love him to death.
