Parental Alienation: Part two
A lot of time has passed since I was arrested for domestic violence. I told you the whole truth, in part one, about what transpired that night. I DID swat my husband's arm with my hand. I could have denied that to the police that night and saved myself, but honestly, I didn't think I would be arrested. It felt like I was the real victim in this, me and my daughter.

Child Bullies
Many of us know all to well what it is like to be bullied at one point or another in our lives. If you have not ever had this experience, take a deep breath and thank your stars. I, like many, have felt the emotional pain that comes with being bullied and as a parent, I believe it what gives me the passion to teach my children exactly why this is and never will be tolerated. There is however, one question I had then and have carried with me throughout my life. What creates a child bully?

The Letter
My mother used to tell me that the connection she and I shared was one that I would not be able to understand until I had a daughter of my own. She was right. My mom died 3 years ago. It wasn’t until the end of her life and, mostly after her death, that I fully appreciated the bond between us.

Swimming Lessons
Swimming lessons. The very thought sent shivers down my spine. I couldn’t wait for school to end, but I dreaded the advent of having to spend an entire morning for three weeks at Jordan pool. Rumours swirled around the pool deck that someone had seen an actual chunk of ice floating in the pool that morning. Charlie McBain swore that he saw the life guards dump bags of ice in the pool – then again, Charlie had also claimed that the life guards were really former convicts. I had passed through ‘red’ last year, and was now in ‘maroon’ – whatever that meant. I wasn’t thinking of the colour as much as the state of being ‘marooned’ on this wretched pool deck on a Monday morning with the prospects of having to spend a couple hours submerged in a hypothermia inducing pool. As I huddled with my fellow ‘maroonies’ (morons?) I looked around the pool deck. A heavy fifteen foot chain link fence surrounded the pool deck. The tall lifeguard chairs served as the watchtowers to this compound. There would be no escape. I looked beyond the chain link fence to my mother sitting with a group of ladies in their nice comfy lawn chairs – they seemed to enjoy this unfolding horror, just as the Romans enjoyed watching spectacle unfold in their coliseums.

Adopted and Raised by Two Moms
My story began when...well, I guess when I was born? I was born in 2002 in China when the One Child Law was still in force. I am one of the abandoned children under that ridiculous law created to control the overpopulation. It was definitely not a success; orphanages mainly filled with baby girls since boys were preferred, because they'd be the ones to provide for the family whilst the girl, when she'll marry, she'll leave the household to provide for her husband's family.

Giving Thanks
Well I had promised a weekly entry but I'm afraid it's been a few weeks since our first entry already. Farm life - the definition of hectic. Make no mistake, this is most certainly not a complaint by any means! The busier we are, the more that is falling into place - and right now, with almost no time left before winter, it's crucial that we complete as many of our goals as possible.

I am sitting in a dim lit living room at 6 in the morning, I am supporting my close friend in being the best version of herself, for her. We agreed we would wake up at 5:45 this morning and work on things, for her that is catching a moment of solitude while catching up at work: for me, I needed quietude.
