A Letter To My Children
With all the chaos going on in the world today I had a very strong calling to write this letter for my children to read in the future. I want my children, who happened to be born in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, to understand the world in which they were born into. This year is very significant in many ways and I want them to know that I am doing everything that I can to make it better. This letter is my personal thoughts and opinions that happen to mean a lot to me. Once you read it please be respectful and kind. Thank you!

Musings of a Momma Bear
I texted my 12-year-old daughter this morning, thoughts weighing heavily on my mind regarding recent struggles she's having at school and with her dad: "Promise me no matter how many people don't listen to you when you speak up that you will never stop fighting to be heard, no matter what. What you believe, think, want, and need MATTERS!"

I Thought I Knew it All - Until I Didn’t.
Are you a mom in a world of critics? Yeah, me too. I can’t begin to count the amount of times we, as women, are asked about motherhood. In all its glory. Truthfully, our fate as women does not always fall back on being just a mother; yet, society continues to remind us that that’s just it. Our Fate - and often times these same women find themselves into some sort of mental sink hole solely based on traditional values of not only Motherhood, but also the ability to live up to the expectations of what we assume is a presentable House Wife/Girlfriend/Partner/Primary Parent, etc.

Dr. Seuss and Me
I can remember wanting to be able to read at the age of two as I gazed longingly at the bookshelf in our living room. Watching my mother's face as she read the books in the small library she owned courtesy of The Doubleday Book Club inspired me to emulate her and learn to read books. Whatever was contained in those mysterious tomes moved her to make faces that revealed both her interest and the emotions the words evoked within her. My mother looked so elegantly, beautiful as she sat quietly reading her beloved stories.

Losing a sibling
I have been living away from my family for 14 years. For 14 years I have been connected to my roots with only phone calls. It means that I remember them the way they were 14 years ago. That’s how I remember their appearances and the way they look at life. I don’t know them anymore. I get only bits and pieces of what they actually are now. When you are overseas you realize that sooner or later you will receive that terrifying phone call about someone dying in your family. You don’t clearly think about it but it vaguely hangs over you for many years. I finally received it this year. I thought I was kind of ready because it’s been hanging over. I was so painfully wrong.

Misery Loves Company
At 28 I never thought that I would be where I am today. Living back at my grandmother's house with my husband and my daughter. It definitely isn't an ideal situation especially since my grandmother is in her 80's. As of late, she has become a little forgetful. Our conversations have gotten quite entertaining because of her forgetfulness.
