Granmumma's Choc Chip Cookies
My grandma, also known as Mumma or Grandmumma made the best choc chip cookies. I am not bias or anything, they really were the best things that my mouth has ever tasted. She isn't with us anymore, bless her soul, but the family recipe will live on for generations to come (well I hope.)

Sweet Wine Glaze
The lights of the tree sparkle while I place a grapefruit and pine wax melt on the tray of the warmer. I flip the switch on, ready to smell the fresh scent of a real Christmas tree without needing one mixed with the fresh smell of citrus. I then turn on soothing orchestral Christmas music that flowed through house while the wax slowly melted down, releasing the scent while I take a deep breath and smile. I walk to the kitchen and pour myself a glass of red wine. The same wine that I will use to make the glaze for the ham I just brought in from the grocery store. The perfect pairing of salty and sweet goes great with all of the sides that I know the family will be preparing. Deviled eggs, potato salad, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, and cranberry desserts would be carting in later today as the perfect compliments for the tender ham.

My little boy
Bringing a life into the world is beautiful. When becoming a parent everyone tells you to treasure the moments dearly. I never understood why until I became a mother myself. Growing up yourself, it feels like being a child is forever. When you’re 5, you claim you can't wait until you’re 10. When you’re 12, you can't wait to be 16. Once you’re 16, you can't wait until you’re 18 and then 21. Once you hit the 21 year old mark you realize you don’t want to grow up, you don’t want to get older, you want to stay young and go back to when you didn’t have the responsibilities that you now have.

The Day My Heart Stood Still
Most of my memories are fleeting at best. As soon as time starts stretching the distance from that memory, details drift away like the seeds of a dandelion caught in a puff of wind. There are few memories, however, that stick with you forever. This is one of those memories.
