The Time Spent on Your Education Should Answer Your “Why?”
Ask yourself your purpose at the early stage of your life

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” ~Nelson Mandela
It’s important to let your experience in life be the source of your inspiration for what you pursue in education. What is it that you value and want to create more of?
No matter what or where you’ll study, your ultimate goal should be to develop skills that allow you to positively impact the world. The purpose of the education should be a question you ask yourself before signing up for a class.
The goal of education is to teach you certain skills that will be useful in the future. These skills include entrepreneurship, critical thinking, creativity, and communication.
It’s important to let your experience in life be the source of your inspiration for what you pursue in education. What is it that you value and want to create more of?
If you don’t enjoy studying something at school, find ways to explore it independently. This can include online courses or self-study. It’s also important because time spent at school could be time lost towards impacting your life’s work. If you feel like what you’re studying is valuable, then it’s worth spending time on.
Start with “why?”
Questions of “why” are essential to the education you choose because “why” is linked to how well that education will help your future goals. If you don’t know why you’re learning something, then it’s probably not helpful in some way for your future.
You should find a field of study that brings out the best in you and keeps it interesting. If college isn’t stimulating enough on its own, then self-study is another option. Get benefits from online courses.
The key to happiness is feeling like what you’re studying is valuable. Time spent at school will be time lost to impact your life’s work; therefore, any time spent must be worth it.
It might seem like there are less creative ways to learn around what seems like boring classes, but you shouldn’t feel limited to just one way of learning.
This is why it’s important to focus on your “why” early on in life, so you know what each day of education is supporting.
For example, you may need to learn mathematics to calculate numbers for repayment on a loan or income tax information. These make sense and are worth studying (and understanding).
Educational Institutions are assisting students in achieving their purpose
Many people choose a top-rated institution and its topmost programs in an attempt to prove to themselves that they have a bright future. However, you should recognize that you were not born to fulfill the educational institution’s aim.
Even when you go away to school, it’s still your responsibility to arrive at the correct conclusions about what will be most helpful for achieving your goals that answer to your “Why.”
Goals should be established by the individual, not forced on them by an Education Institution. An Education Institution is only a facilitator, providing facilities to help you achieve your goals.
Final thoughts
Education is an essential part of life that can help shape your future. Education provides skills to be used in the future, but it should also align with who you are and what you want out of life.
Education institutions provide facilities to help us achieve our goals; however, they don’t dictate which goal we pursue because it comes from ourselves.
If such institutions aren’t stimulating enough for you, explore other options like self-study or online courses so that your time on education will have meaning to you. You’ll find yourself more engaged if the course has something to do with why you’re learning it in the first place!
