The Forgotten Tree
Time was long, and the days were short. Still, the tree stayed standing. It was a pear tree widely known for producing the best pears in the town. Every year, people had come to take the sweet fruit that hung from the branches, and the tree gave willingly. The tree had always had a pleasant life in its little meadow. The tree had always loved when people came to eat its fruit. The humans always had a smile on their faces when they left with the crisp fruit plucked from the branches of the tree.

Planting Mindfulness
The activity that takes me away from harsh realities is restoring a small piece of nature on my property back home. It doubles as a part of the solution to the core of the harsh realities out there including the effects of materialism and overpopulation on nature and society that continue to spread across the countryside. The problems people impose on the environment and each other weigh heavily on my mind. Serenity and tranquility are necessary for peace of mind and coping with life in these tumultuous times. Planting native plants on my little patch of ground is a rewarding and satisfying activity. It is a fundamental way to make a positive difference today and for future generations.

Like good books and comfortable furniture, houseplants have their way of pleasing an indoor environment. Other than levelling up the aesthetics of the place, some varieties of houseplants serve a greater and more important purpose, which is purifying the air we breathe. Some houseplants tend to absorb toxic air contents like carbon dioxide and give out more fresh oxygen that we can consume. There are a number of plants that can really help with naturally purifying air in your home.

Wake Up When September Ends
Out the door and down the two burnt red-orange tiled steps, quietly across the driveway with the corner crack that always has a yellow dandelion growing out of it and onto the long, narrow, and dwindling sidewalk. The dawn having yet to break, I can hear the soft "coos" of doves sitting on the wires above.

What Is The Lifespan Of Our Planet
If the brightness of our star increases by 10%, the earth will no longer be in the habitable zone surrounding our star. When the Sun stops burning hydrogen in its core, Mars will be outside our habitable zone and we will be too hot to keep water on our surface. Like all things in the universe, our planet Earth will fizzle out.

A taste of Colorado's Seasons
Every year it seems to blend into one day. At least most of the time. It’s hard to remember what happened when. But thank goodness for the season. Without them, we wouldn’t live long on earth. I have noticed the different seasons that often pass by, regardless. Although in Colorado, we seem to have 2, 3 each year.
