Climate Change & the Human Race
Does it always have to be Nature versus Man?

A tale of rising temperatures, a story that's tall.
The ice caps melting, the sea levels rise,
And we, the human race, are caught in surprise.
We've built our cities and carved out our land,
We've harvested the earth and demanded.
We've taken and taken, with little to give,
And now, we must face the consequences we live.

The winds grow stronger, the storms rage and roar,
Nature's wrath felt, from shore to shore.
The drought and the floods, a tale of despair,
And we can only watch, as nature takes care.
We've burned the coal, we've drilled the oil,
We've burned the forests, we've boiled the soil.
And in doing so, we've released the heat,
And now, we must face the consequences, so sweet.
We've destroyed the habitats, the homes of the wild,
And we've sent the creatures, to a fate so mild.
A world that was once, so full of life,
Is now, a barren wasteland, with only strife.
The polar bears, the whales, the seals and the deer,
Are dying, by the thousands, from year to year.
The coral reefs, the rainforests, once so alive,
Are now, only memories, in a world that thrives.
We, the human race, have a choice to make,
To either heal or destroy, for our own sake.
We can choose to live, with respect for the earth,
Or we can continue to consume, until there's no worth.
We can choose to reduce, the carbon we emit,
And we can choose to switch, to clean energy and fit.
We can choose to protect, the animals and trees,
And we can choose to preserve, the oceans and seas.
We can choose to educate, the young and the old,
And we can choose to inspire, with a message so bold.
We can choose to work together, hand in hand,
And we can choose to heal, this world we so grand.
We are the human race, with a heart and a soul,
And we have the power, to make a difference whole.
We have the power, to heal this world we live,
And we have the power, to give it all we have to give.

So let us rise, and take up the fight,
Against the change, that threatens our sight.
Let us stand, with courage and grace,
And let us heal, this world, we must embrace.
For this is our home, our planet so dear,
And it's up to us, to make it all clear.
That we will protect it, with all that we've got,
And we will heal it, with love and with thought.
So let us pledge, to do all that we can,
To heal this world, for the sake of man.
For the sake of the earth, for the sake of the sky,
For the sake of the future, let us give it a try.
For the world is changing, and we must change too,
And we must rise, to the challenge anew.
For this is our world, our home and our fate,
And it's up to us, to heal it, before it's too late.
And so we must act, with urgency and care,
For every moment lost, is a moment we can't spare.
We must reduce our waste, and recycle what we can,
And make sure our choices, are in line with our plans.
We must plant more trees, and protect the forests we have,
And preserve the habitats, of creatures we once had.
We must clean our air, and protect our water sources,
And ensure that future generations, will have resources.
We must invest in clean energy, and shift from the old,
And embrace new technologies, that are environmentally bold.
We must educate ourselves, and spread the word to all,
And work together, to answer nature's call.
For the world is changing, and we must change with it,
And embrace a future, that is sustainable and fit.
We must be mindful, of our actions every day,
And work towards a future, where we can all play.
And so, let us all, join hands in this fight,
And stand together, in the face of this plight.
For the sake of our earth, and the future of man,
We must act now, and take a stand.
For the world is changing, and we must change with it,
And embrace a future, that is bright and lit.
And so, let us all, join hands in this fight,
And work together, to heal our world, with all our might.
