Ancient legends, myths, and religions from various cultures have described gods and angels. These beings were not always portrayed in a spiritual sense. Instead, they were depicted as flesh-and-blood entities interacting with humanity. Many early civilizations possessed significant knowledge of mathematics and astronomy. They attributed this knowledge to divine beings.

One of the oldest civilizations, the Sumerians, referred to these god-like entities as the Anunnaki. The Sumerian civilization emerged over 6,000 years ago, transitioning from the Stone Age. It is credited with numerous advancements essential for modern society. These advancements include agriculture, science, medicine, mathematics, kingship, laws, courts, and judiciaries.

The question arises: how did such an advanced civilization emerge seemingly abruptly? Some theorize that they were influenced by a more advanced extraterrestrial civilization. Recently, the theory of ancient astronauts has gained considerable popularity. It focuses on the Anunnaki. Who were these beings? Did they truly exist? If so, what was their purpose and motivation for creating humanity? The Sumerians are thought to be the oldest civilization in the world.

The Sumerian Tablets suggest the possibility of extraterrestrial origins for the Anunnaki. These beings played a significant role in the development of civilization. Some researchers speculate that they genetically engineered the human race. This speculation arises from the Sumerian King List, which contains names of kings who purportedly lived for hundreds of years. The King List is considered one of the most important ancient texts. It describes a time when divine beings ruled over Earth for thousands of years. The kingship is said to have descended from Heaven, with Eridu as its center.

According to the list, Alulim became king and ruled for 28,800 years. Another ruler, Alaudjar, ruled for 36,000 years. A third king ruled for 64,800 years. The earliest records detail eight kings who ruled for a combined total of 241,200 years. This period extends from the original kingship's descent from Heaven to the time of the great flood. After the flood, kingship was again lowered from Heaven. The question arises: could the ancient kings of Sumer have lived for hundreds or thousands of years, potentially indicating extraterrestrial ancestry?

Some believe this question was addressed over 35 years ago. In 1976, Zecharia Sitchin published "The 12th Planet." This book reveals his interpretation of the Anunnaki deities. Sitchin posited that the Sumerian gods were extraterrestrials who landed on Earth over 450,000 years ago. They are believed to have created humans and to have played a role in their subsequent demise during a cataclysmic flood. According to Sitchin's hypothesis, the Anunnaki visited Earth to mine gold and created humans to perform this task. While this theory remains controversial, it suggests that the Anunnaki were the original creators of humankind.

The Anunnaki claimed to originate from a planet called Nibiru. They purportedly had the ability to travel through stargates and wormholes. Sitchin also asserted that the Sumerians acquired knowledge of astrology from the Anunnaki. This knowledge provided them with a profound understanding of the solar system, including planets such as Venus and Saturn, and they even depicted a hypothetical tenth planet named Nibiru.

Sitchin proposed that Nibiru orbits the Sun every 3,600 Earth years. He suggested that it causes disruptions when it passes close to Earth. In 1983, The Washington Post reported on a celestial body as large as Jupiter. NASA has acknowledged the possibility of a hidden planet based on gravitational effects observed within our solar system. Modern astronomers have detected a 10th planet that is larger than Pluto. Some believe that the Anunnaki originated from Nibiru. They theorized that the Anunnaki created a shield on Earth using gold to assist in healing their own planet.

The term "Anunnaki" derives from Anu, the chief god of the sky. Anunnaki can be translated as "the children of Anu" or "those who came from the sky." The most prominent figures within the Anunnaki pantheon include Anu and his two sons, Enlil and Enki. Anu was considered the supreme god and ruler of the Anunnaki. He was believed to reside in the heavens, overseeing the actions of the other gods.

Enlil was the god of air and storms, and he was the firstborn son of Anu. He served as the enforcer of his father's will on Earth and functioned as the main ruler of the planet. Enki, the second son of Anu, was the god of knowledge, wisdom, and creation. Initially, Enki was worshipped as a god of fresh water and was the patron deity of the city of Eridu. Eridu is regarded as one of the oldest permanent settlements in Mesopotamia, potentially even in the world.

The ancient Sumerians believed Eridu to be the first city, a belief they documented in the Sumerian King List and the Eridu Genesis. At least 18 layers of settlement have been discovered at the site, indicating its historical significance. Over time, Enki's influence expanded. He was eventually associated with various aspects of life, including trickery, mischief, magic, creation, and fertility.

Enki, alongside Ninhursag, genetically engineered the first humans, referred to as Adamo. This was achieved by mixing their DNA with that of Homo erectus, resulting in the creation of Homo sapiens. This narrative evokes the biblical idea of humans being created in God's image. Initially, these humans could not reproduce. They were designed in laboratories to serve as a workforce for gold mining.

Witnessing the exploitation of his creations, Enki chose to intervene against Enlil's will. He secretly imparted knowledge of reproduction to the humans. Furthermore, he shared knowledge about the universe. Some theories suggest that Enki may have favored Atlantis as a residence. To protect his creations, Enki, with the aid of Arcturians, established the Atlantean civilization – a sanctuary where humans could live freely without exploitation by the Anunnaki.

This act incited the fury of Enlil. Sumerian clay tablets describe a conflict between the two brothers. It appears that the detonation of nuclear weapons in the 20th century was not humanity's first experience with such destruction. Drawing upon the work of Zecharia Sitchin, the Book of Genesis, Sumerian clay tablets, and archaeological evidence such as ancient radioactive skeletons, there are indications of a potential nuclear event that devastated the Sumerian civilization due to the power struggles among the gods.

As their creator, the Anunnaki god Enki had a fatherly relationship with the first humans. However, Enlil, acting as the sole commander of Earth, was infuriated with Enki for compromising the purity of the Anunnaki bloodlines through interbreeding. This conflict led to a suppression of both the true nature of the Anunnaki gods and humanity's ancient history on Earth.
