The Gorge

Introduction

I had seen trailers for this film on AppleTV and it looked mysteriously interesting and I finally got to watch it this week. I will try and give no spoilers and you can see much of what it is about in the trailer I have included with this story.

Into The Gorge

Two assassins Drasa and Levi are hired to "protect" opposite sides of a gorge in an unspecified European country but no one knows where they are.

Their homes are brutalist concrete towers on either side of the gorge which is fenced, mined and lined with automatic submachine guns, and it is their job to make sure whatever is in the gorge doesn't come out.

Though they are not supposed to communicate Drasa starts writing messages and Levi responds. They play sort of postal chess and Drasa dances to the Ramones and the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs on Orange vinyl (which I thought was slightly strange, but the music is great).

This does become a dark love story, just because of what is happening in the gorge, but Levi and Drasa become much closer.

As the film progresses the reason for them being there is revealed, though it is not an easy discovery.

Conclusion

I think this is another excellent film from AppleTV, but check out the trailer and IMDB before you step in. It is in the Horror universe but that comes through as the story develops.
