This expectation was affirmed by U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, during his address at the Atlantic Council conference. He emphasized that “Trump has made it very clear that our European allies and Canada now need to match the United States,” highlighting the importance of equitable burden-sharing in defense expenditures.

Extreme to Extreme
Extreme to Extreme Why does it seem so hard to follow the motto of the Greeks? They believe in the means between the two extremes. We here in America always appear to vacillate amid the extremes whether it be Democrat or Republican. We find ourselves running from one to the other in rapid succession barely catching our collective breaths. Once we do settle on something or someone, we find that it is quite often not what we thought, and we end up with “buyer’s remorse”. I firmly believe that lately we are feeling that way all the more.

The Moonwalkers
The Moonwalkers When I was 16, I bunked off school early to go home and watch the launch of the first space shuttle, Columbia. As it lifted off and arced into the heavens, tears came unbidden to my eyes and a lump appeared in my throat. It was the first time that I had cried since I was a baby. That moment in time was so uplifting because it showed what mankind could do when they work together. The space shuttle heralded a new age of exploration and promised such hope and optimism for the future. The American Century had seen the continent go from cowboys and Indians to putting man on the moon in less than a hundred years. Astonishing.
