What is a nursery rhyme in so many words?
So, what is a nursery rhyme in so many words. The nursery rhyme is a poem that teaches various lessons to young children using various kinds of characters to elicit feelings and emotions in a particular situation. This is not the official definition of a nursery rhyme, but my own.

Pledge Allegiance to the Flag. Content Warning.
Now that students are back in school who remembers standing at the side of the desks repeating this pledge with our hands over our hearts? I do remember doing this everyday till I graduated from high school. I remember in early elementary school I was even chosen to hold the flag one day. To me the meaning of this pledge is to say thank you to all the patriots for securing a republic turned democracy and allowing us to have many freedoms to learn and be happy in our choices.

What is it about reading a book?
What is it about reading a book? Is it the cover, the chapters, the words? Or is it the feeling of the pages as you are turning them? Could it be the place you chose to read this story or even your chosen drink say hot tea, hot chocolate or some would say a glass of wine depending on their mood and what they have chosen to read. Reading a book brings relaxation, learning and inspiration to whomever. Just read and it is cliche, but books to open a whole new world to all.

The World's Globe
What the world needs now with the Olympics just about over is to remember that we need just to show understanding and compassion to our fellow men and women. How can we do this when there is an election coming up and we all know what that brings about. When you see a world globe what it reminds you. When I see a globe, it reminds me that each individual country on the globe is a part of united whole. From one nation to another we all have our beliefs and if we look, we all are very similar in those beliefs.

The Poison Season
Maria Rutherford had written this novel entitled 'The Poison Season' during the 2020 pandemic. This is the story of the island of Endla and how magic should and should not be used. Leelo is a young woman who lives with her mother, aunt and cousin. One-night Leelo hears something like a wolf and she goes out searching and she notices the island's boat and a boy in it trying to stay afloat. Leelo meets Jaren and feels something for him. she is not sure what. Leelo's cousin Sage and Aunt Ketty are rule followers and Leelo must always be on her alert when she tends Jaren in a secret place. There are plenty of decisions that Endlans must make everyday. This is a novel full of 'magic' and family and getting to know who and what is around you.

Birds of Color, Flock Together
Birds are everywhere it seems. and this picture seems to show this. I chose to use crayon of various shades blue, red, yellow, and black. Gave this picture an autumn vibe with the red, orange and yellow leaves and leaving a few green that was actually two different shades of green. This could also be a counting activity for some questions could be: Count and circle the Bluebirds and how many? Count the redbirds and underline them or just maybe read a story about birds or make their own birds.

Design Shapes
When I first saw this design, I wasn't sure what it was going to look like. I started at the center with a light blue moving on to a yellow then to a slightly darker blue, then using a red for a little contrast surrounding the rest with a light orange. To me these could be flowers or maybe they are just odd designs. It could make a good tablecloth or even an apron pattern.

Birds on Nests
Hope you guys like birds for there are plenty on this picture. I chose to make all the birds at the most groups of four of one color. I did the small flowers using black on the ones around the border and different colors to offset the green of the nests. There are shades of blue, tan, pink, magenta. This is also another picture that could be used a counting activity sheet for preschool or primary school. Count the black flowers and birds? Count how many nests there are on the page. Circle the tan birds. Put a square around the blue birds? Also, I shaded the white area sky blue, which is one of my favorite colors. Hope you like this.

Marten
Here is a picture of a Marten up a tree or pinecones and flowers. I used my crayons with shades of blue primarily along with pink, orange, reds, greens, and black for a little contrast. The tree and pinecones I colored using brown and burnt sienna. The flowers I chose red with a little orange tint. The while background I shaded in sky blue surrounding the whole image of the Marten.

Flowers
Here is a patch of wildflowers that I used my crayons with shades of blues, greens, reds, oranges. Leaves of greens and berries of magenta and small leaves tan. I hope you all like wildflowers and hoping for comments on this picture for when I saw it the flowers reminded of a wildflower patch I grew long time ago. Please share your thoughts on this one.

Ocean and Ship objects
Ahoy, there matey! Here is a color art of ocean and ship objects that I tried to use colors for the underwater effect. The colors range from reds, orange, brown and blues. This one could also be used as a counting exercise for preschool students. Count the life preservers. Count the shells. Count the anchors. Can you find and circle the starfish? Can you find and put a square around the crabs.
