What does this really mean?
What do you think of when you hear some one tell you or anyone "Do good?" Could it be do good on a test that you have studied for a long time or is it just in hopes that you will have a good day doing whatever that you may have planned one way or another. Doing good and showing kindness one way or another is a way of also having faith in just being who you are.

The Writing Teacher. Top Story - August 2024.
Who was your writing teacher in school? Writing is a skill that starts with learning how to hold a pencil or writing instrument. The teacher would go around the room making sure everyone was holding the pencil in the right way whether right-handed or left-handed. We would move on to 'writing' lines (vertical and horizontal, smiles or we called them rockers). After a few weeks of these forms, we moved into learning letters then numbers to cursive writing. The end of the basics and just learning how to combine cursive letters joined together into words and sentences like the old adage 'The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.' to writing our own stories and thanks to my second-grade teacher and the English teachers since then I thank them to showing me the gift of the written word and the skill of handwriting.

The Struggle of Junior College Basketball In Last Chance U: Basketball, the players for the East Los Angeles Community College Men’s Basketball team are subjected to the grueling and often demoralizing conditions of the junior college basketball level. The stigma that comes with being at the JUCO level is one that does not take kindly to those involved; from no meal plans, no student housing, and consistent struggles financially, all while attempting to remain academically eligible and play well enough to receive a scholarship to a better program, the junior college route can be a struggle for anyone brave enough to attempt it. This theme will provide evidence and attempt to depict the often-overwhelming obstacles presented towards junior college athletes, as well as the lack of support these players are given to succeed at this level.

Powerful Women and Misogyny in Film
We all like to think that we are exempt from propaganda; that with enough education and self-awareness, we can side-step the negative impacts of social conditioning. Of course, this is never true, and much of our behaviors and cognitions are based on the propaganda we have been fed. There is, of course, no bigger force complicit in propaganda than film. For over a hundred years film has influenced and reinforced the way Americans perceive themselves and the world around them. This is unfortunate because American society has always been constructed and perceived through a male-centric lens- especially when it comes to the female purpose. This is why I want to analyze how films depict a topic that’s crucial to me: women in the workplace. Pledge Allegiance to the Flag. Content Warning.
Now that students are back in school who remembers standing at the side of the desks repeating this pledge with our hands over our hearts? I do remember doing this everyday till I graduated from high school. I remember in early elementary school I was even chosen to hold the flag one day. To me the meaning of this pledge is to say thank you to all the patriots for securing a republic turned democracy and allowing us to have many freedoms to learn and be happy in our choices.

What is it about reading a book?
What is it about reading a book? Is it the cover, the chapters, the words? Or is it the feeling of the pages as you are turning them? Could it be the place you chose to read this story or even your chosen drink say hot tea, hot chocolate or some would say a glass of wine depending on their mood and what they have chosen to read. Reading a book brings relaxation, learning and inspiration to whomever. Just read and it is cliche, but books to open a whole new world to all.
