Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Criticism
The adverb 'calmly' was used in the book to suggest that Dumbledore was speaking in a peaceful manner. This was seemingly, completely ignored by the film makers, who adapted for the line 'did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?' to be said in a vicious, nonsensical way.

Rich Men North of Richmond
Times must be tough in the music business South of Richmond. No competent guitarists, singers, or lyricists, no barber to trim an unkempt beard. Childish guitar, weak melody, nonsensical message. Candy-eating welfare recipients starve morally superior drinking southern workers? Really? Old soul? Hasn't learned much. Makes true conservatives seem ridiculous.

A Critique of Prisoners (2013)
Prisoners invites viewers into a whirlwind of tragedy, grief, and humanity's ongoing struggle with the unpredictable evils of this world. Allured by well-executed action sequences, dreary cinematography, a haunting soundtrack, and outstanding acting performances, audiences are challenged to explore the darkest parts of ourselves as we grasp for fleeting hope.

Succession
Fantastic satire. Gripping cliffhangers to end seasons. Incredible performances (especially McFadyen and Braun). And one of those shows that manages to have an ending that feels both believable and satisfying. Best TV show ever? Nah, not quite Mad Men or The Sopranos. But then I thought Breaking Bad was overrated.

Prey (2022)
Amber Midthunder steals the show as the fierce young Comanche warrior, Naru, who defends her tribe from the ferocious Predator. Has beautiful cinematography, tense, edge-of-seat action, unexpected jump scares and actual character development. Naru does not get an easy time, but never gives up. Relentlessly boundary-pushing in the best ways.

A Critique of The Avengers
Marvel’s Avengers movies are absolutely stunning! While some scenes have predictable outcomes, the rest are unbelievably thrilling. The way they create the characters and their powers is fascinating; it captivates me the way they defeat evil and save the innocent.
