H/Jack
Unexpectedly Excellent TV Series

Introduction
I will be honest, when I saw this advertised on Apple TV the only things that grabbed me were the fact Idris Elba was in it and the title "H/Jack". I have watched a lot of excellent stuff on the channel, most recently "Slow Horses" and "Down Cemetery Road", both absolute must-watch, and "Murderbot" was brilliant.
This was about a hijack, so I expected to get bored after about fifteen minutes.
But.....
I am now on the penultimate episode, and it is rather excellent. but very frightening. When you think that things can't get any worse, they do. The flight is taken over by a bunch of apparent psychopaths but we don't know why. As the story unfolds, we find that the supposed hijackers are doing so because their families have been threatened with extreme violence.
Idris Elba's character is seen as a threat to them, and his family become targets for whoever is driving the hijack (or H/Jack).
One of the worrying things is that in our global digital world, it is very easy and fast for anyone's location and relationships to be found and targeted.
Conclusion
While I have not found this an easy watch, it is still excellent drama, but I have not yet reached the finale (that may be later today if I can take it, it's not "Die Hard").
I would recommend this to anyone, but be prepared for a rough ride. Every time you think things are under control, something else bad happens.
Thank you so much for reading.
