Unusual Criminal Suspects
From a robot to a dog, these aren't the usual criminals
Criminals sometimes aren't human, as this list of stories will prove. Ever think a robot could become angry enough to hit a child, or that a monkey could call 911? Read the stories below to find out more.
Future. Serial. Killer. Robot.

In Russia, a robot programmed to play Chess became quite aggressive when its opponent, a 7-year-old boy named Christopher, violated one of the rules of the game. The robot grabbed the child by the hand and crushed it against the table, breaking his finger.
Christopher, named one of the best chess players in Russia, was forced to leave the Moscow Open tournament that day but was able to return the following day after treatment at a local hospital, which included a plaster cast placed over his finger.
“[He had] made a move and after that, we need to give time for the robot to answer, but the boy hurried and the robot grabbed him.”, said Sergey Lazarev, president of the Moscow Chess Federation.
Someone refer this robot to a good therapist or anger management class, pronto.
Just Monkeying Around

In early August 2022, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office received a strange call at the 9-1-1 dispatch center. The caller disconnected before saying a word to the operator. The 9-1-1 operator attempted to call and text back the number without a response.
Deputies sent to investigate the case were led to the Zoo to You near Paso Robles. None of the staff members reported calling 9-1-1 for help. As the investigation continued, police learned that a Capuchin monkey named Route had apparently picked up the zoo’s cellphone, which was sitting in a golf cart, and made the call.
Police declined to charge the monkey with a crime since life at the zoo is enough confinement.
Dog Breaks in Home to Cuddle

A dog in Tennessee that broke into a couple’s home for a little late-night cuddling will not be charged with doggulary, according to reports. Due to the dog’s adorable personality and cute face, the homeowners decided to send Naila the Dog home with a warning.
Naila the Dog found her way inside Jimmy and Julie Johnson's house through an open window. The couple slept in their bed when, without warning, Naila the Dog jumped into bed and snuggled closely between them.
Dog owners themselves, the Johnsons assumed the four-legged friend was one of their three pooches until Jimmy opened his eyes and saw the color of the dog. Mr. Johnson immediately knew this was a doggulary and he and Mrs. Johnson were the intended targets.
“Julie, whose dog is this?,” a sleepy-eyed Jimmy asked as he peered through half-opened eyes at the tan-colored dog sharing their bed.
As Julie rolled over, assuming her husband was too tired to recognize his own pet, she was shocked to see a dog she did not recognize in bed with her and Jimmy. Naila the Dog snuggled closer when she saw Julie’s face.
Jimmy and Julie knew the dog had a loving family since she was healthy, happy, and friendly. Julie and Jimmy gave Naila plenty of love, a good meal, and then took a few selfies of the dog and plastered them on Facebook, hoping someone would recognize the dog.
It didn't take long before Nala’s owners contacted them. Nala slipped out of her collar while on a walk during thunderstorms the day before. The woman eagerly picked up Nala from the couple’s home.
"Our overly friendly pup, Nala, has hit an all-time record for ignoring personal space and added yet another trick to her long list of Houdini acts," Cris Hawkins, one of Nala's owners, wrote on Facebook. "Shame [on] Nala for somehow breaking into a stranger's house and invading their personal space. Thankfully, the couple thought it was hilarious and they aren't even mad about it."
Jimmy and Julie assured Cris, Nala’s owner, that there were no hard feelings. All four dogs now get together for regular play dates.
