Tragic pool accident: Three young students try to save each other's lives, but all lose their lives in the fight for survival.

THREE COLLEGE YOUNG ENGINEERING STUDENTS DROWN IN TERRIFYING SWIMMING POOL ACCIDENT

Tragedy struck at the 'Vazco' beach resort in Mangalore, where three young engineering students from Mysuru lost their lives. Nishita MD (21), Parvathi S (20), and Keerthana N (21) were in their final year of engineering and had gone to the resort for a vacation. What was supposed to be a joyous time with friends turned into a heartbreaking incident.

#### How the Incident Occurred

Reports said that the accident started with one of the women struggling in the deep end of the swimming pool. The other two plunged into the waters immediately to save the friend they saw in trouble. Unfortunately, none could hold on afloat, and before help arrived, all three drowned.

Normally, the pool is a safe place; however, in this case, it turned dangerous because the sudden nature of the incident and the apparent lack of proper safety measures or trained lifeguards nearby. This tragedy puts their families, friends, and the community in deep shock.

#### Who Were They?

Three brilliant young minds in engineering, studying in Mysuru, were Nishita, Parvathi, and Keerthana. Aged 20 and 21 years respectively, they were young enthusiasts awaiting the perfect moment when their studies would be over and promising careers founded on bright prospects would begin. Their friends and teachers described them as hardworking, kind, and full of life. The sudden loss of these three young women brings immense grief to the college and the community at large.

#### Value of Water Safety

The accident here clearly proves the value of safety measures in water, even if the location is a resort or a private pool. Individuals don't feel threatened at such places; however, people do not know just how fast things can spiral out of control if an individual starts to struggle in the water. Even a capable swimmer will succumb for reasons of panic or exhaustion, for example.

It really is basic anyone needs to know about swimming or at least water safety. Basic understanding of keeping calm and floating back, along with rescuing a fellow human being without taking your own life into danger, saves so much.

It is sad that such an accident serves as a terrible reminder that how soon any single good day may turn to shambles by lack of safety awareness.

#### The Need for Safety Measures

For instance, there should be trained lifeguards always working in pools, especially in resorts and public areas. They can immediately respond to calls when someone is at risk if no one can provide help before calamity befalls. Actually, so-called high-class resorts have highly intense precautions for safety, but in not-so-regulated small places, these may not be considered important.

The Vazco beach resort where the accident happened should have taken better care of its safety measures. Things could have been very different if lifeguards or emergency response equipment were nearby. What happened can be a lesson for authorities and resort owners to always remind them of those precautions to avoid tragedies like this in the future.

#### Caution Around Water

Here's some safety advice everyone should always remember when spending time around pools or beaches:

1. **Know Your Limits**: If you are not confident about swimming, always stick to shallow parts or wear a life jacket.

2. **Buddy System**: Never enter the water alone and be cautious of one another.

3. **Basic Rescue Techniques**: Learn how a floatation device can be used and pull a person out of the water without getting wet. This is considered a very important lifesaving technique

4. **Near Lifeguards**: Choose areas with lifeguards trained for emergencies.

5. **Don't Panic**: If you begin to have trouble floating, remain calm, float on your back, and shout for help.

COMMUNITY AND FAMILY RESPONSE

Sadness and shock have gushed into families and friends as soon as this news broke out concerning Nishita, Parvathi, and Keerthana. A huge loss has occurred to the minds of their classmates and professors in the light of these untimely happenings. The tragedy has reminded people of how short-lived life can be and has really started water safety discussions in that area.

Nowadays, most people will demand that the resorts and recreational centers uplift standards regarding safety levels. This means pool areas should be constantly watched with watchdogs nearby and the visitors should be briefed on safety.

The fact that three young students died is not a sad reminder but a good time to understand that with enjoyment and leisure, there are risks involved. Everybody should be made aware and so careful in proceeding towards the water so that in future such incidences would be very few.
