Rising Crime in America
Protect yourself and your loved ones.

Crime in America is on the rise, and there are several factors contributing to this trend. One of the main causes is job loss. As unemployment rates increase, so does crime. This is because when people lose their jobs, they may turn to criminal activity to make ends meet. Another factor contributing to the increase in crime is the opioid epidemic.
Fentanyl and other opioids are highly addictive, and when people become addicted, they may resort to criminal behavior to support their habit. Additionally, opioid addiction can lead to mental illness, which can also contribute to criminal activity.
Also, the rising cost of gasoline and inflation are putting a significant strain on families. As a result, more people are struggling to afford necessities such as transportation, and housing. In places like New York people are spending 70% of their income on rent which is not leaving them any breathing room to save any money which is leading them to live paycheck to paycheck. Because of this some people have given up on traditional housing and moved into tiny homes and reconstructed vans. Or they are just going completely homeless.
Another factor that is contributing to the increase in crime is food shortages. The economic downturn has led to many people struggling to afford necessities, including food. As a result, more people are turning to food banks and other forms of assistance to feed themselves and their families. Unfortunately, these services are often overwhelmed and underfunded, leading to long lines and limited availability of food. This can lead to frustration and desperation, which can in turn lead to criminal activity. For example, individuals may resort to stealing food or money to feed themselves and their families. Additionally, food shortages can also lead to an increase in food-related crimes such as food fraud and food stamp fraud.
For example, Walmart has lost billions due to the desperation that has led to an increase in theft. As the economic downturn continues, more individuals are turning to stealing from retail stores to make ends meet. This is putting a significant strain on these stores, as they are losing both merchandise and revenue. In response, some stores, such as Walmart, are taking steps to combat theft by increasing security and surveillance, as well as implementing stricter policies and procedures. They are also closing down stores which will lead to more food insecurity forcing people to travel further to find a grocery store.
Police departments across America are being overwhelmed by the increase in crime, and they are struggling to keep up. This is leading to higher crime rates in many areas, as criminals feel emboldened to commit crimes knowing that there may not be a strong law enforcement presence to stop them.
Furthermore, law enforcement agencies should implement a community policing approach, which involves building strong relationships between the police and the community. This approach can help to prevent crime by addressing the underlying issues that contribute to it, such as poverty, unemployment, and addiction. Additionally, community policing can also help to improve trust and communication between the police and the community, which can lead to more effective crime-fighting efforts. In light of these trends, individuals need to take responsibility for their safety. This may include carrying pepper spray or a personal alarm, taking self-defense classes, and being aware of one's surroundings at all times. Additionally, it may be a good idea to invest in home security systems, such as security cameras or alarm systems.
The old saying goes "It is better to be judged by six than carried by six" which means it is better to defend oneself and face the legal consequences than to be a victim. Therefore, it is important to be informed about the laws and regulations regarding self-defense in your state and to act within the legal boundaries while taking necessary measures to protect yourself and your loved ones.
