Man Chops Off Wife’s Nose & Ears After She Tells Him She Wants a Divorce
Aisha's father sold the 14-year-old to a Taliban fighter

Born in 1991, Aisha Mohammadza, known in the U.S. as Bibi Aisha from Afghanistan was only 12 years old when her father promised her to a Taliban fighter in exchange for satisfying a debt he owed the man. Her father died when she was a young child, leaving only her father around to make decisions. At the age of 14, the Taliban fighter took Aisha from her home and married the teenager.

He soon turned Bibi into his servant, waiting on him hand and foot. No matter how much Bibi tried, she could never make him happy. He constantly screamed at her and told her how to ‘think.’ he physically abused her and invited his family members to kick and punch her. He even forced Bibi to sleep outside in an outbuilding with farm animals.
In 2009, 18-year-old Bibi told her husband she wanted a divorce; he refused. She realized that if she ever wanted out of her marriage, she would need to escape. But how? She turned to neighbors for help, but they called the police instead, resulting in Bibi spending time in jail.
When Bibi’s father arrived at the jail to pick her up, she thought he come to rescue her from the hell of her abusive husband. He, instead, drove his daughter back to the man’s house and back into the horrific life she wanted to escape.
A Broken Promise Leaves Bibi Disfigured and Near Death
Bibi’s husband and his family promised to treat her better now that she was home, all the while knowing their sinister secret plans for her.
Days after her jail release, Bibi’s husband and his brother dragged her into a mountain clearing near their home. A group of friends had now joined the brothers. Bibi’s husband held her down while his brother chopped off her ears and nose as she screamed in pain until she fell unconscious.
The brothers and their audience of spectators walked out of the woods, leaving Bibi to die.
Hours passed when Bibi regained consciousness. Through the pain, blood, and disfigurement, she managed to walk to her uncle’s house. He refused to help her.
Devastated yet determined to survive, Bibi crawled to her grandfather’s house. By the time she arrived, Bibi had lost a massive amount of blood and did not have long to live. Her grandfather drove her to a hospital operated by the U.S. military.
Bibi Left Tormented, Undergoes Reconstructive Surgery

Bibi spent several months in the hospital recovering from her injuries. She was left psychologically tormented by the abuse and horrific attack and was sent to a women’s shelter for 10 weeks.
Bibi underwent 12 surgeries at the Grossman Burn Center in the United States, including facial reconstructive surgery. A Maryland doctor provided her with a new prosthetic nose and ears to help Bibi feel more beautiful.
After Bibi was stabilized, she was flown to the Grossman Burn Center in the United States where she underwent 12 surgeries to repair her injuries.
She was featured on the cover of Time magazine in 2010.

In 2012, two years after completing the 12 surgeries, Bibi underwent reconstructive surgery. A Maryland surgeon provided her with a prosthetic nose and ears.

She made her home in Maryland in the United States.
I send my best wishes and thoughts to Bibi. I cannot imagine enduring a tragedy like she experienced. I hope life in the U.S. has treated her well and that she is continuing to recover and thrive.
