Quiet Explosion - Chapter 3/5
Chapter 3 - The Rescue DI Fotheringham drove to the flat in Old Bank crescent, followed closely by two squad cars, all full of armed police. This wasn’t going to be easy. The likelihood of someone getting shot was going to be very high. They drove at high speed on the Leeds ring road through heavy traffic. They had to travel to the other side of Leeds to their destination but it wouldn’t take them long. When they arrived they all burst into action. This had been planned down to military precision back at the station and everyone knew where they needed to be so that every exit was covered. DI Fotheringham was leading the main group up three flights of stairs to flat 21B. Without hesitation the door was broken down and in flowed a group of police, screaming and shouting as they went, clearing and securing every room. The flat went quiet as everybody waited for the next instruction from DI Fotheringham who was slowly looking from room to room, satisfying his own desire to find some clue or evidence that they were not being taken for a ride. He looked through every window and in every corner, on the floor and up and down the walls hoping for some kind of break. Eventually he spotted the crucial bit of evidence showing quite clearly that he was on the right track. There on the sideboard was a baby monitor, still switched on. Throughout all the flat there were no sign of a baby, infant or small child that could warrant having a baby monitor. It could only be in use for one thing and that was for tipping off those who they wanted to catch, giving them a heads up that someone was on to them. With the speed of a gun-slinger DI Fotheringham pulled out his police radio.

Moskvin: The Doll Collector
(DISCLAIMER: this case tells the graphic details of the deaths of children, touches up on mental illness and death) Anatoly Moskvin was born in Russia on September 1, 1966, he grew up a normal and happy child, much like the other children around him. He graduated from Moscow State University with a degree, which went on with him pursuing a career as a journalist. Moskvin had stated that he was an expert when it came to cemeteries; an odd expertise to have however he claimed himself to be a 'necropolyst'. His estranged love for cemeteries came from childhood experiences. Although Anatoly was deemed a normal child, his known place where he would play and explore would be his local cemeteries; unannounced to his future that would shock Russia, this behavior could have been put down to the simplicity of curiosity, and that the Anatoly didn't understand death. Children are curious creatures, and they will explore and learn for themselves, however this curiosity of Moskvin led him to be a body-snatcher who would dress up bodies of little girls.

April 22, 1981. Teenage sisters Tammy and Cathy Baxter were playing outside of their father John's home in Lawrence County, Ohio. They found a burned-down home that had been that way for an estimated six to eight years. Near that home was a cistern closed up by a block and some wooden beams. The girls' curiosity got the better of them, and they peered into the dark depths of the cistern. What they saw made them run home and tell their father what they found.

Reason First: Who Punches a Cop in the Face and Runs?
The life you save may be your own if you want your life. Surprisingly, a Pennsylvania man tested the men in police uniforms by taunting and running away from them. While (of course) the footage failed to convey the beginning of the incident, it is a relief that this scene did not end with gunshots between the alleged perpetrator or the cops. In the video, the man is seen “squaring up” with cops after the policeman allegedly cold-cocked the man in the face. Supposedly, the man received the taser treatment. From Eric Garner to Tamir Rice to Michael Brown to Freddie Gray and so many others, the black man seems to be a target in the United States. However, if it is true that the unidentified man, black, white, red, brown, or yellow should have met the cold hand of justice from the start with an arrest.

Chapter 2 - The Kidnapping Steve was a self made millionaire in his mid twenties, who made his money from foreign electronics sales. The Asian markets were so far advanced, many people in Britain couldn’t wait to get their hands on the goods, even if they didn’t come with guarantees and warranties. Where Steve made most of his money was in modified electronics—a mobile phone could be programmed to do just about anything these, days but it was something that only the black market could offer, especially for the type of clientele Steve was dealing with. There were small warehouses around the globe that stocked anything people wanted, he also had a group of programmers and electronic experts able to modify to demand. On his business trips he would befriend some powerful allies as he wined and dined the local mafiosa, but Steve loved to come back to Leeds. He felt he had to come back to the place where he spent his childhood, he also thought he could make a difference to the people in his hometown, he liked to think of himself as some kind of philanthropist, to give himself a feel good factor, and to bring some justification for his misdeeds. Steve had made himself quite an empire, and controlled much of what went on in Leeds, it was a case of ‘better him than someone else who didn’t give a crap’. He didn’t realise that the by-product was death and mayhem, but as the saying goes, ‘ what you can’t see can’t hurt’.

The Axeman
The Axeman is one of the most popular and interesting serial killers of all time. What makes this story more interesting was that he was never caught. This unsolved mystery is one of my favourite stories. The reason why the killer was called The Axeman of New Orleans was that he would murder people with their own axes in New Orleans. The Axeman would usually grab their axes from their sheds and brutally murder his victim(s).

Bubble Baths and Bullets
Hosea Tribe leaned back in the steaming copper tub filled to the brim with clean bubbly water and exhaled a long ragged breath. It had been eighteen days since his last bath, and that had really only been a dip in the river with a bar of borrowed soap. Stolen soap really… but he had put it back by the washer women’s pans and boards before dawn, so it didn’t seem to him to be much of a crime. Not a crime worth counting anyway. He had plenty of those tallied up already. Breathing in and out deeply Hosea’s aching muscles began to relax into the sudsy water. He let his mind wander over the events of the last few days. By god but it had been insanity. Unbidden, her face floated before Hosea’s mind's eye. Round hazel eyes, hair the color of dark honey, heart shaped face and a full figure, curvy and soft looking. Not that Hosea had gotten the chance to test the theory of her softness… She had barely begun to warm to his smile, before the movements of a greater story had pulled them apart. The men to whom Hosea and most of this piece of the West answered to had changed things in with a swift finality that left the residents of the little township Kingston and the surrounding county reeling. The fact that Hosea was able to relax in a bath at the Kingston’s one and only Hotel had more to do with his exhaustion then any real security he might have. Perhaps the very knowledge that the door could be kicked in and he shot to death there in the tub at any moment made the relaxation and thoughts of her more delightful. Rose Lillian Carson. Rosie, as her friends called her.

Fifth Murder in London in Six Days - London's Worrying and Increasing Murder Rates
A man has passed away after a triple stabbing in Barnet. The condition of the two other involved men have not yet been released. This is the fifth murder we have seen in London over the past six days and as of June 16th there have been 56 murders that we know of so far.
