I Hereby Resolve
I Hereby Resolve By Cleve Taylor Wow, 2021 has passed fast for me. I recognize that part of the reason time sped up is due to age. As an octogenarian I recognize that each new year represents an increasing percentage of the rest of my life, so those minutes, hours, days, months and years are incredibly important, and fly by far too fast. It is not like when I was a child and time slugged by at snail's pace and I was anxious to age and get on with my life. I expect 2022 to be the year of the hare.

The Return to Self
For many years and many cycles, the question, “who am I?”, had little depth and meaning. Confined to the beliefs imparted by a limited society and wounded family, my true Self was buried. The heart’s desires and soul’s longings, a dense fog of confusion and heaviness. “What is the point?”, I often wondered, insecurity rattling me to the bone, caged in a small existence with little room for expression.

Soon, You’ll Be Taken Away From Your Comfort Zone
Nature wants to ensure Her survival. That’s why She keeps expanding and multiplying. Nature uses whatever feels pleasant as a contributing force to Her survival goal, while She avoids whatever feels unpleasant, because it may be a threat to that very purpose.

Sorry, I'm not authentic...
When you are young all you seek and desire to be is yourself. To enjoy life, to play, laugh and dance in each moment. At some point along the way we are disciplined and expected to shrink ourselves down. To be quieter, to listen, to not be too much, or too little. Then to speak up, take responsibility, to make choices but still obey – it’s a very confusing mess.

An Offering of Chili Mango
Back in 2019, the December sun shone weakly through post-rainstorm clouds on the Embarcadero boardwalk of San Francisco. Me and two of my college friends were visiting our mutual high school friend Phil* in the Bay Area, who had graciously offered to host us at his studio complex in the City for the weekend. After Ubering around to Chinatown for dim sum and Twin Peaks in the early afternoon, the four of us moseyed on over to the Embarcadero to walk around amidst the tourist crowds before taking our bus back to Davis.

The real me is scared, the remarkable me is posting this
Where do we begin writing the authentic story of ourselves? Whose eyes will these stories fall upon and will they be met with grace? What is the story we are telling, anyway? When will these words be shared, and finally, in the words of John Locke: “How long have you been holding those words in your head, hoping to use them?”

Tha Man Collector
I was born on July fourteenth. The day of the convincing storyteller, according to the Secret Language of Birthdays, people born on this day are described as manipulative, seductive and charming. It is my seductive charm that has become the near death of me.Besides being predispositioned genetically with bipolar manic depression, I was sexually abused as a child which led to a very dangerous and provocative promiscuous lifestyle. Since the age of twelve I have sought out broken, heartless people to come into relationship with. Most of them extremely personal, intimate and inappropriate, usually ending with a traumatic event. I now suffer from severe complex PTSD and have become suicidal.

Remarkable me.
This may start off as a tangent, but I’m recognizing the significance and how it relates to details later in the experience. My cousin’s husband had died, and it may read improper, but I’ll add the word thankfully before the word died. I do appreciate the time he unsuccessfully helped me replace a transmission in my truck, because then I ended up fixing the problem myself.

A Life-Changing Perspective
A Life-Changing Perspective It was just another regular Tuesday for me at college and I was enjoying my art class. It was an almost four-hour-long class as it was every once a week. The sun was shining and surprisingly it was a pretty day outside for the season of fall in October 2018. My family friend texted me as we used to attend the same college and had offered me a ride till his house as our homes were pretty close by and either one of his parents would drop me home. He was on medication and he was limited to driving from school to home and work due to a drinking and driving incident. He had a breathalyzer attached to his steering wheel and he had to blow into it before he would start to drive and while driving from time to time as he had explained to me.

Streaming Journey
Some exciting news! So as I have been writing about, I am a content creator and an up and coming streamer as well. I hope to become your friendly neighborhood streamer. I have been accepted as a content creator with an early access game I had found whilst playing Stadia, the game is called Nine to Five Make a Killing by Red Hill games. It is a first person shooter game that consists of varying operator skins, weapons, and all the jazz found in your typical FPS game. Where this one happens to stand out from the rest of the overflooded market of first person shooters is the dynamic of the game. With three teams of three on various maps, you are thrown into a random map, and if you are playing solo than with two other players. The game is more objective based and less shoot ‘em up so to speak. With the smaller team sizes it makes for interesting gameplay while 9 people all go towards a similar goal to either take out the other teams or to get to the objective. The objective of the game is you are a mercenary with your other teammates and you are extracting a usb drive. There are three rounds to each match. The first round you are setting up and gathering your information to extract the usb drive. The second round is where you and your team are battling it out while defending a cutter that is extracting your usb drive. The final round, and this is the one that really counts, is setting up your defense and waiting for you and your team to extract themselves. Now as previously stated the third round is where the action really comes together and is the one that determines the winner. Now usually in most matches in games of this nature the best two out of three usually wins. Well not here, which is a dynamic that is quite interesting, you and your team may lose the first two rounds or even win one and lose one, but if you don’t win that third round your team loses. So essentially you can lose the first two rounds, and make a comeback in the third and final round for a hail mary. As I said it makes the game a lot more interesting and I believe it has the potential to keep gamers from rage quitting because why quit when you can come back and get the competition in the third round, which can be quite satisfying. There is a variety of armor and skins for the game and with each armor comes with the choice of tacticals, field equipment, and lethals to help you pave you and your team's way to victory. I applied to become a content creator for this upcoming game as it has not been released on the market as of yet, and was accepted for the position as previously stated. The game is not yet on the market and is available on Stadia and Steam, I do have various links for a free two month trial with Stadia for anyone that follows me or my social media would like to play with me. Well I started the game with “guns blazing” so to speak and dove right in and I have enjoyed it rather well, I was unable to participate in the most recent tournament due to circumstances outside of my control and that was okay because I got to spend some time playing and honing my first person shooter skills while putting in work for the holiday event called Not So Silent Nights. I have almost completed the available challenges as some are still on a timed release. I have been having a lot of fun, creating content and talking with a team of other content creators and networking. With being a content creator I have been given access to a special Discord chat for the official news and updates. With this opportunity I am able to talk one on one with other content creators and developers of the game and we are all able to brainstorm and make suggestions for this upcoming game. As I have Steam I am a bit kicking myself in the butt for not finding it sooner and starting this sooner but I am glad I was able to come on when I have as this is early in development and more offers may be arising, and who knows maybe a career in field that I wouldn’t have seen myself in a few years back. Being a father of three and being presented this opportunity has set me closer toward becoming my goal of being more home based. I appreciate all those that do take the time to read my work and that follow me on social media. I am working on becoming home-based to be there for my kids and to show them that you can do whatever you would like to do and still make a living. I will be updating this more on a weekly basis with news and updates that are coming along in the game as well as with my journey of becoming your next favorite streamer. So until next time friends!
