The Hidden 20s: A Lesson Beyond Textbooks
The Test Beyond the Textbooks By Sadiq ur Rehman Shah, Sargodha When I stood first in my school examination, joy overwhelmed me like never before. My parents were delighted, showering me with praise, and even arranged a grand family dinner in my honor. Being the youngest and much-loved son, my achievements were always celebrated, but this time it was different. Despite the expensive tuition classes my parents had invested in, despite their countless sacrifices, I had rarely brought them the kind of success that filled them with pride. Yet this time, with a first position, it felt like I had finally justified their hope in me.

The Confession of Fire by Stefano D’Angello
Part I - The Confession of Fire The rain never seemed to stop that month in Florence. The sky hung low and heavy, as though burdened by the weight of prayers it could no longer answer. In the heart of the city, behind the cracked marble pillars of the Santissima Trinità, Father Gabriel served the word of God. He was thirty-seven, solemn and disciplined, a man whose hands had only touched holy things.

The Weight of Expectations: Why Chasing Others’ Approval Keeps Us from Living Our Truth
Introduction From the moment we’re born, expectations surround us like invisible threads, weaving into the fabric of our identity. Parents expect us to behave a certain way, schools expect us to achieve, peers expect us to fit in, and society expects us to follow its script for success. These expectations can be motivating, shaping us into disciplined, capable individuals. But they can also weigh us down like chains, keeping us from pursuing the life we truly want.

The Day I Lost My Daughter to a Monster I Trusted
My life as a woman started with pain. Growing up, our house was a mess—Dad was an addict, spending his days buying and selling pigeons, barely bringing home a dime. We were dirt poor, and I only made it to a diploma thanks to handouts from neighbors and relatives. Dad wouldn’t let me study further, saying, “Girls don’t need school.” I hated him for it, but I had no choice. Back then, I thought that was the worst of it. I was wrong.

The Government’s Best Friends
The Government’s Best Friends In the heart of the city stood an old coffee shop, a place people fondly called *The Corner of Friendship.* It was a spot where politicians, officials, and ordinary citizens often crossed paths. Some came to talk business, others to argue, and many simply to vent about the government.

The Surprised Trend of Converting to Islam Around the World
The Surprised Trend of Converting to Islam Around the World Walk into a mosque in Berlin, New York, or Cape Town, and you might notice a surprising scene. A university student, raised without any faith, repeats Arabic words with quiet devotion. Despite widespread Islamophobia, thousands of people around the world continue to embrace Islam. The trend surprises many, yet for those who witness it closely, the reasons unfold with clarity.

Silent Cries Behind Closed Doors
Meher sat by the window of her small living room, staring blankly at the world outside. Children ran in the street, their laughter echoing through the evening air. Neighbors exchanged greetings as they carried groceries home. Life seemed warm, full of ordinary joys. But inside her home, there was no warmth—only shadows, fear, and silence.

Word of the Day: 愛
I am proud of where I am right now. I am not in the best of places but I am not in the worst either. I have an adequate amount of tasks and I have some how found a system to navigate all I have to do. I just got to keep going even if it is just a little bit.

Observations on My Birthday
With all the rapturing talk, and the nonsense of that...ahem...world leader taking over the airwaves, I kind of ignored my own birthday. Crossing over that date provides plenty of its own amusements without the nonsense of the wider world. I note that I do not have as much energy as I did when I first began running as a teenager and attempted to keep my health. I misplace things around the house and begin to think that I am pulling a prank on myself without the fear that I am just losing my mind. And I have no interest in a lot of old habits that I once thought would define me forever.
