Her Own Terms
Nina stared at her phone, thumb hovering over Ava's contact name. They'd been texting back and forth for weeks now—ever since they'd been paired for the literature project. What started as discussions about symbolism in poetry had somehow evolved into late-night conversations about everything and nothing.

The Council of Selves
Ras had always been a dreamer. At seventeen, she'd fall asleep with notebooks full of plans scattered across her bed—sketches of the art gallery she'd own, acceptance letters to prestigious universities she'd attend, wedding invitations with blanks where her future husband's name would go. She dreamed in vivid detail of the woman she'd become: successful, polished, surrounded by the life she'd carefully orchestrated.

Internet Fiber Blockade Disrupts Life in Afghanistan
Internet Fiber Blockade Disrupts Life in Afghanistan In recent months, Afghans have faced yet another crisis, one that is less visible than violence in the streets but just as damaging to daily life. The disruption and partial blockade of Afghanistan’s internet fiber network has cut off millions of people from reliable access to the digital world. Word of the Day: 執着
I made mapo tofu for some protein. I got to visit Daidai's stream on youtube, it was nice, I do enjoy just hanging out there. Daidai is a Mangaka who I am pretty sure has some sort of mental illness but I am sort of messed up to so we just gel together naturally. I consider him a colleague since we both do art but maybe a superior since he is so dedicated to his craft. I bought some stuff from him before.

Two strangers seated side-by-side on a long overnight train ride. Content Warning.
The notebook feels cheap under my fingers, the cardboard cover flimsy. This pen is already starting to skip. But it’s midnight, and the train is a dark serpent sliding through the sleeping countryside, and I can’t sleep. The hum is in my bones. That low, metallic thrumming that feels like being inside a giant, moving creature. It’s the sound of distance being eaten. The sound of leaving.

Leaves Falling to Hell
The Autumn Equinox is approaching, and although I was born in the spring, nothing feels more like home than fall, or what my fellow witches call Mabon. As I’ve learned to find comfort in my shadows, it only makes sense that the dark side of my sun sign would be Scorpio: my evil twin, my dark sister. Oh, how I love when she comes out to play.

The Golden Vase and the Secret Letters from Fairyland
The Golden Vase and the Hidden Treasure By Ubaid Maryam’s younger brother, Soheil, was a dreamer. While she—wise beyond her years—studied diligently in the eleventh grade, Soheil, only in ninth, often drifted into a fantasy world. He was convinced that one day some saint, magician, or fairy would reveal the secret to a hidden treasure that would make him the richest man alive. Hard work was never part of his plan.

Loyalty in the Court of Caliph Muʿāwiya
Loyalty Tested in the Court of Caliph Muʿāwiya BY:Khan The sun blazed mercilessly over Damascus. It was noon, and the heat pressed down on the earth like a heavy blanket. Inside his grand palace, Caliph Muʿāwiya ibn Abī Sufyān sat by a window, gazing out across the vast open fields that stretched as far as the eye could see.

Shark Dive at Beqa Lagoon
I was a novice diver. I had fewer than ten dives under my belt when I found myself on holiday in Fiji. I was eager to do some diving. The resort I stayed at recommended an exciting adventure. They suggested the "Shark Dive at Beqa Lagoon."

The Letter I Never Sent. Content Warning.
There are moments in life that carve themselves into your soul, moments you carry with you long after time has passed. For me, that moment came in the form of an old letter—creased, yellowed, and hidden in the bottom drawer of my father’s desk.
