Dumpster Date Disaster
I was not always the goddess you see before you today. Back in high school I was a bit chubby, dawning huge dorky glasses that looked like they were a $5 grab-bin special at K-Mart. I had somewhat of a lazy eye, mom cut bangs, and zero fashion sense. I had even less social grace.

I Have A Crush On You
It was the start of the second term of year nine and a new girl from Sydney had joined our year. She was not in my class but from the moment I laid eyes on her I was in awe of her. Her name was Alex and although you could not describe her as beautiful, she was incredibly striking. Even at fourteen, when she walked into a room she commanded attention. She had poise and such presence that all I could do was look at her every chance I got.

Graduation
I went to a small school growing up. Everyone knew your name, your siblings’ names, your parents’ names, and sometimes even your grandparents’ names. It was great most of the time. The only problem was that memories were long; nothing was ever forgotten, and you could never live anything down.

No regrets, Yeah right!
My final entry into this contest is a collection of embarrassing moments that have one common denominator, my mother. Humiliation can be funny or it can be torture, The bottom line is feeling shame which sometimes you can laugh at later and other times you have to suck it up and move on. My earliest memory of my mother feeling indifferent towards me was when I was 14. I don't recall the details but I was having a conversation with my great grandmother and she said something pretty hateful to me.

Putting the Whore Into Horror
I used to work for an inbound call center, for a property and casualty insurance company, taking calls from agents who needed help with servicing their customers' auto and property (Homeowner's, Tenant, and Condo) insurance policies. We also did some work with Umbrella policies. It was a job I really didn't like, and most of the time the agents were unbearable to deal with, so we were always looking for something to make us laugh and just enjoy the time we were there more.

I Was An Exotic Dancer For Exactly Four Nights. Top Story - April 2021.
“I’ll pay you $200 if you come to my car with me,” he said with hot breath, piercing my personal space bubble. “I really can’t, that’s against the rules” I rebuffed, implying that I ever would agree under different circumstances. “Come on now,” he persisted. I stood with my head cocked to the side to get a little further away from him. I watched as my friend Kadence flirted across the room with another man. “What do you think my name is?” she asked with her seemingly innocent, doe eyes. Finally getting away for some air, I whispered “Why did you tell him he was correct when he guessed ‘Christina’?” She leaned in slyly, “I’m not telling him the truth!” she giggled. “This is how you play the game. This is how you intrigue regulars to come back to see you dance.” I looked behind my shoulder to the stage. I was already way out of my depth.

Scammer 101
One day, I had just begun my second semester of college and was laying down on my bed in my dorm room. I had been on my phone visiting a few sites applying for a loan. I suddenly received a call about a loan offer from one of the sites I visited. I was happy to say the least, I knew I didn’t have the best credit out there, so I saw it as a great opportunity. I was struggling with expenses, and had already taken out student loans. The guy on the phone told me that I would have a flexible payment plan, and more than likely even loan forgiveness. Sounds great, doesn’t it?

Vacation Aromas
Although I was no longer using drugs, my inner hippie could not resist the temptation to stand out and make a name for itself. College was the chance to redefine myself, I thought. So, I called myself Mac and went without shoes for a year. I kept telling myself that I wasn't doing it for attention but rather because I liked the way that the bare ground felt beneath my feet. That perspective quickly changed once the winter months hit, and I found myself trudging around the steep mountain campus barefoot in the snow. By that point, I'd committed myself so much to the idea that I wasn't willing to give it up.

April Fools Day Phone Prank
In the spirit of April Fools Day, which landed perfectly on my Storytime posting day, I decided to share the story of the fun prank calls I did in some of my character voices.IT was a great practice as adlibbing characters is, and despite it all being for good fun, I would actually call this a practice session of sorts.

Most Embarrassing Moment
Honestly, I've had my embarrassing moments that has happened in my life here and there but there was something I would never forget 14 years ago during my adolescent years. The world’s most embarrassing thing that has ever happen to me was at middle school. I was a student at Montgomery Village Middle School in the 7th grade.
