I paid $300 for my iPhone X unlocked
I remember visiting numerous credible online sites looking for an affordable iPhone X. While I am a iPhone lover, I know that I am not the type of person to spend nearly $1,000 on a phone. I became hopeless when everything I came across just was not a good deal. They were mostly selling the iPhone as low monthly payments totaling over $1,000. You and I both know, that is a total rip off.

The interview
I was 16 years old at the time, the typical age most teens start job searching. I went online to apply for jobs at the outlet mall and restaurants near my home. Within one week, I received a phone call from the manager at Starbucks. She told me she would like to meet me for a job interview, and I happily agreed to the date and time that was available.

Scammer 101
One day, I had just begun my second semester of college and was laying down on my bed in my dorm room. I had been on my phone visiting a few sites applying for a loan. I suddenly received a call about a loan offer from one of the sites I visited. I was happy to say the least, I knew I didn’t have the best credit out there, so I saw it as a great opportunity. I was struggling with expenses, and had already taken out student loans. The guy on the phone told me that I would have a flexible payment plan, and more than likely even loan forgiveness. Sounds great, doesn’t it?

Date Night
“C’mon Rachel, you haven’t been on a date since you broke up with Jake, I think it would be a great idea”, she said grinning at me. I knew Candace for six years; she was like a sister to me. We met in high-school and have been joined to the hip ever since. I sighed; she had a point. I needed to get out of the house, and this was a perfect opportunity. I grudgingly agreed to go on the blind date she wanted to set up for me for the past weeks, she said she would text me all the details as she finished her shift at the bakery. It was five o’clock and my shift had just end, so I began to walk my usual route, two blocks from the bakery to my apartment on 8th street.
