Have you ever had something that you really love so much, that you moved with it everywhere you go? But unfortunately you have to put it up for sale because you are in need of money urgently for a very special reason ? For just a couple of bucks.

It was the end of summer of 2015 and I had just moved to a new city in Turkey called Kocaeli for my University studies, by that time I had been living in Turkey for 4 years and I was able to understand and speak Turkish fluently, I had no communication issues. It was two months in after the first semester of school had started and i was coping up with my new environment.

I owned a pair of Beats headphones by Dr. Dre, I think you all music lovers know what i am talking about. Now, I loved these headphones so much ,they were like my baby, and they were the most precious belonging I had at that time.

But one day, I made decision to sell them off for some money I needed to send back home to help my grandmother, after all I will work hard and make more money to buy them again, and it is material stuff only. So I listed them on an Ebay like site in Turkey to look for a customer. It was my first time selling something of online so I didn't really know what to expect. A couple of days later I got a customer who was willing to pay me. So we came to an agreement and he wanted me to send the headphones and send him the cargo tracking number and I trusted him and did exactly what he wanted but I told the cargo officer to not hand in the headphones until i approve it, for security issue. I thought I were smarter.

A day after the headphones had arrived at the buyer's destination and the buyer called V.Y came to pick them up but i had not received the money by then so I told the Cargo officer not to hand in the headphones and this did not make V.Y feel good, he lost his temper and called me yelling at me, He told me to get serious and stop playing games that he had sent the money to my account and that I would received in 24 hours. I was pure enough to believe him. A couple of days passed and I had not received my money yet. I started losing it and kept on calling him. He started to reject all my calls and later on he blocked me. I needed the money so bad and now my lovely headphones had gone and my money had not come in. So I went to the police to report my case as if the police would give me the money, unfortunately the police did not help at all It was just time wasted for me to go there and that moment I understood that I was scammed and my lovely headphones had gone.

Days and days went on and I didn't receive no money and as time passed I forgot about it. Now this was my fault in the first place,I couldn't blame anyone. It was a big lesson for me. My intention was to help my family I was only trying to solve a problem but I ended up losing my precious headphones and deceiving my family about the money I had promised to send. Since then i have never tried to sell any of my stuff via online and yeah it was a good experience for me to never trust people but the story does not end here.

5 years later, I received a friend request on instagram from a user account in the names of V.Y. Now at first I didn't really know who it was so I didn't accept the request immediately. After some days passed I checked my friend requests list again and suddenly recognized who this V.Y guy. It was the same guy that took my lovely headphones and never paid me 5 years ago. Now that I was sure that that it was him, you would expect me to be very angry and heated up at this time,How dare you send me a friend request, but i felt so relaxed and calm and started wondering what he wanted from me so I immediately accepted the request. Just after I had accepted him, he immediately DM'ed me. In Turkish asked '' Sana ne kadar brocum var?'' meaning, ''How much money do I owe you?'' I was so happy to see him say this because honestly i had forgotten about the money at that time. I didn't want him to pay back anything. I talked to him in a nice and polite way. He went on and told me that since he act of unfairness towards me, nothing in life his went well, ''Nothing went smoothly for me brother, and then I remembered that I was unfair to a brother years back.'' He said.

We went on and talked and he told me that he was soon getting married and he begged for my forgiveness, he offered to send me half the money and to reach out to him whenever I need something.

Honestly, I didn't want any money or the headphones back from him. I didn't want anything from him,I was so happy and felt emotional and enlightened while this conversation was taking place. It was nice to see that not all bad people are bad, they just need time to realize the bad action they have committed in the past and then try to do the right this while they are still alive. In the end he insisted and sent me half the money. I wont lie, I was totally broke again so the money was of help.

If you have ever been scammed or ever get scammed, please don't go crazy and try to revenge. Just live it to the Almighty,The Universe and of course wish well to the scammer and in all situations in life ,good or bad ,STAY YOU
