Today Is World Smile Day

So Give Someone A Smile

A Nightcafe Creation By The Author

Introduction

Today I am going to Inverness for a birthday weekend with Fiona, so I got up at 4:30 AM (I did go to bed early), and it is a five-hour journey up north, though when I go to Orkney, it will be a longer journey, including either ferries or flights.

When I switched my computer on, the search icon told me it was World Smile Day, which means this can be an example for this month's challenge, which you can join in with here:

The music is "Give Birth To A Smile" by Roger Waters from his collaboration with Ron Geesin, which you can find more about here:

Smile Today

I always try and smile at people, although I don't think my smile is that great. I do love it when people smile at me, and some of my friends have the most wonderful smiles, and their smiles really make me happy, because I assume they are happy to see me.

The World Smile Day site is down, but here is a BBC article

This is a smile from my Granddaughter Alexis when she came round for my birthday. She persuaded her mum to get her a fairy costume as well!!

Smiling is good for your whole body

I do find it almost amusing when certain men who regard themselves as handsome and god's gift to women always look like they are sucking a lemon.

Sometimes, when things aren't going right, we don't feel like smiling, but it is always good, if we can, to recall something that does make us smile.

I do hate it when someone says to a woman:

"You'd be prettier if you smiled"

If those men weren't so moronic, others, men and women, would smile at them.

A little more about the benefits of smiling

Conclusion

So today (and every day) smile a lot. It will do you good and make the people you meet happier. I do love a returned smile.

I know this is fake, but it will make you smile

Thank you for reading, and hope you have a reason to smile today, and someone gives you a smile.

Your creation from Nightcafe definitely left me with a lighter spirit. Ferries or flights. Seems like you had a long but adventurous journey ahead of you. I went somewhere yesterday and did smile at someone. It felt really good. I love how a smile from someone could show you that they are happy to see you. You've got such a cool and loving personality. I am sure anyone would be happy to receive a smile from you. Your granddaughter is so adorable. Thank you for sharing a photo of her. With all those positive effects, smile has on a person. I will be sure to smile more. After reading your lovely and informative article. πŸ€—β€οΈ

I've always known you to be a fairly positive individual Mike and this piece is a great reminder to keep smiling and to always try to rememebr and think about things that could provoke a smile. I sometimes find that hard, but sometimes listeing to my favourite music helps or remembering a silly joke or even clip from an old comedy show. Great piece - very uplifting. Enjoy the trip to my homeland! :) Also there is this - Wanted to remind you of the book and ask you to look at the most recent piece and update on progress and the next step involving your input - a bio. Thanks. https://shopping-feedback.today/writers/vocal-poetry-anthology-progress-update-and-requests-part-two%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

This piece made me smile, Mike! Your reminder that kindness can start with something as effortless as a smile is exactly what the world needs more of today.

Well, you definitely made me smile. I loved everything about this piece. I, too, love to smile at others and try to get a smile back. I most especially love that this year World Smile Day coincides with my oldest child's birthday. I have plenty to smile for all day.
