Memoir
Ojibwe Language Coloring Books and Snow Snake
Sandra has been my niece for just a couple of years now. My siblings and I adopted her father in the Native American way. When her boy, Liam, my great nephew now, opened the books pictured above, he was all excited and started looking through them right away.

Chapters of Love and Life
I hope you enjoy reading my shares as much as I have loved creating them. May they take you places deep, where you have been, may be or places where you may be taken. May they be an aid in your living and healing. May they travel with you in your heart, hold and comfort you in your time; knowing that you are never alone in any thing. Others have been there, tasted the same bitter and painful moments. We survive when we know that there is an Almighty God looking over us and that there are others thinking of you. They too have known what you know.

Pawprint on heart
Pawprint on Heart The sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm, golden hue across the neighbourhood. Sam sat on the porch, the familiar silence of the evening wrapping around him like a comforting blanket. He glanced at the empty spot beside him, where Buster, his loyal golden retriever, used to sit every evening. It had been a week since Buster had passed away, but the pain in Sam's heart felt as raw as the day it happened.

Sleeping Diary
I always carried my diary beside my bed, not for the usual reason of writing down incidents of the day, but for something far more frivolous. I entitled it "Sleeping Diary." It all started on one lazy Sunday afternoon when my mom began recounting stories of her dreams during childhood, funny sleep habits, and those half-awake moments she forgot by morning. She suggested I write down whatever I could remember the next morning as about my own dreams or sleep adventures, and thus my little project was born.

Ten Years Gone...
NOTE: I wrote this ten years ago. Since then, I had two husbands pass away and moved four times. Now I'm deep into middle age and more settled in myself; I'm in a much better place mentally. But the world...hasn't changed. In light of current U.S. and world events and the recent election it's wild how it's still relevant. I could have written this yesterday. I saved it in an email draft, and came across while cleaning out old messages.

Renewed Perspectives and Gratitude in South Korea
It feels like a lifetime ago I was here in South Korea as a different man who wanted nothing out of life. I spent 9 months deployed on the DMZ back when I was in the army and I was bitter, and still angry at the world. Unable to appreciate this beautiful country I was in until now.
