Renewed Perspectives and Gratitude in South Korea
A journey to Korea after not seeing it for almost 8 years. A different man, A different time.
It feels like a lifetime ago I was here in South Korea as a different man who wanted nothing out of life. I spent 9 months deployed on the DMZ back when I was in the army and I was bitter, and still angry at the world. Unable to appreciate this beautiful country I was in until now.
I spent my week here exploring the palaces, the Temples and Mt. Seorak where I was promptly rained on as I climbed the routes. I couldn't help but laugh as I was surrounded by such amazing scenery while soaking wet. I found peace up on that mountain. Just a man and his thoughts digesting almost 10 years of his life and how he finally reached this moment.
I met many wonderful people, I sang karaoke with and tried the local drinks and food till I couldn't eat anymore. I was filled with overwhelming gratitude for the privilege of returning to a time in my life that I had lost so much. After that deployment I lost more friends to suicide, I lost my way in life and I was disgruntled with the army.
I was given the opportunity to return with a renewed perspective on life. One that brings gratitude for who I was able to become despite my setbacks and past failures. I was reminded how lucky I am to be here, be healthy and be able to travel freely.
Its been fun Korea, and I'm sure I'll be back to say hello many more times. Thank you for the healing, the memories and the peace that I experienced here. I hope everyone gets to experience Seoul an South Korea at least once in their lifetim.

The Work Trip of a Lifetime
This past February I was blessed enough to be able to work in Puerto Rico for about a month. It's moments like this in my life I am grateful for the profession I chose to pursue. Sometimes archaeology sucks, and sometimes you keep opportunities to explore outside your usual world. I stepped off the plane and was greeted by a gentle breeze and an overbearing sun. Self Love Is A Form Of Hobby Living
When you love yourself or think of things like self love what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it all about the hobbies that you enjoy or is it,about how you love what you do in life? Or is it both? I would say it is both or even a little bit of both. When you put your life and hobbies together you are loving yourself all the more because you are doing the things that you enjoy the most, whether that be being with friends, getting your nails done, getting outside in nature, re-organizing your house, the list can go on and on, this is just a few of things that can be a form of hobby and self-love all at once. When you put everything you love in your life in how you live your life is that self- love or is giving yourself presents in the form of self-care and whatever that looks like for you. Is self- love a form of hobby living if so how is it a form of it? Self love is a form of hobby living because you love the hobbies that you do, making friendship bracelets, or going out with your friends hiking, can be a hobby and also a form of self- love for yourself. Anything a person enjoys doing for themselves can be a form of self - love. So pick the hobbies that you enjoy the most and see what happens to you in the form of self-love for yourself.
