It became a tragic example of the violence during the struggle for land. The village was attacked despite a previous peace agreement with nearby Jewish settlements. This resulted in the brutal killing of around 100 civilians, mainly women, children, and the elderly. One survivor, Dawud Assad, who was 18 at the time, remembers the horror and the forced expulsion that followed.

It lies 8 kilometers from the nearest labeled town on Google Maps, making it quite remote. The village seems to have been there for generations, but looking back in time shows that it has shrunk over the years. Before 2008, no one lived there at all.

Her ponytail has been undone, letting loose her dark brown hair now covered in dust. The black leather suit, created to withstand heavy blows to lessen the damage taken, has been torn in multiple areas. Small sparks of flames sporadically appear around her. Aya stands up slowly to looks down at AGON CITY. From above, the few citizens whom haven’t evacuated admits the warning sent prior to the rampaging assault, are frantically running as near by buildings begin to crash down. From a far corner, one building is seen toppled over the main street causing an array of dust to surround the area.
