The Rick Henry Christopher Project Top Ten

The Most Listened Songs

By Rick Henry Christopher Published about a year ago 3 min read

The following list is a listing of my Ten Most Popular songs on Suno. These are the songs that have received the most listens.

🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

I want to be upfront about the recent songs I have been creating. They are all created with the assistance of an AI tool named Suno.

My Suno profile is at: https://suno.com/@rhcproject

Suno, is a generative artificial intelligence music creation program designed to generate realistic songs that combine vocals and instrumentation, or are purely instrumental. The program operates by producing songs based on text prompts provided by users. Suno has been widely available since December 20, 2023, after the launch of a web application and a partnership with Microsoft, which included Suno as a plugin in Microsoft Copilot.

I write all the lyrics of these song creations. With my detailed prompts Suno AI is able to compose/generate melody to my specifications. I call myself a co-writer or co-creator of these songs.

The Top Ten

10. Lilac and Rose and Indigo Blue

This one started as a poem that I published on Vocal. It was a Top Story and is one of my most popular poems. (See below for the link to the poem)

9. Isabel

“Isabel” is a tribute to my lovely mom. She is a one-of-a-kind person. Her goodness and humor still shine through her dementia.

8. Za-Zoom

“Za-Zoom” is a clever nonsensical song. It doesn’t mean anything. It’s just plain fun with a good catchy hook.

7. Planet Dance

Another fun feel-good dance song with a lot of catchy hooks. This one sticks with you after hearing it.

6. The Illustrated Man

I wrote this lyric back in 1992 when I was with the rock band The Thunder Lizards. We rehearsed the song many times but it remains one that was never finished. I am very excited about how this turned out. If I had to choose a favorite it would be this one. The lyric emphasizes the contrast between my inner strength and my vulnerability to emotional experiences.

5. Bikiniland

I love surf music and new wave. This song is a combination of the two genres. I did a fair amount of creative prompting and made up a few new words in order to create a wave sort of sound. The Go-Go’s, B-52s, and Beach Boys influenced this one.

4. Hypnotized

This is my first jazz tune. It is lyrically experimental and musically it’s a smooth jazz similar and in style to Michael Franks with hints of blues. The vibraphone is one of my favorite instruments so I capitalized on this. I’m not totally pleased with how this song turned out. But it is one of my most popular. Go figure.

3. You Give Me

This song got a big boost from the video “The Making of You Give Me.” This is where I began getting creative with my prompts and ideas. It’s the beginning of one of my signature sounds.

2. Come on Out and Boogie

This is the epitome of a “four on the floor” disco. My vision with this one was just simple fun. My influences were “Boogie Nights” by Heatwave and “Boogie Oogie Oogie” by A Taste of Honey. I keep thinking I should change the name to “Boogieland,” what do you think?

1. Strawberry Jazz

Surprisingly this is by far my most popular song. Nothing else even comes close. This smooth jazz tune is loosely based on Michael Franks’ “Popsicle Toes.” Again my love for the vibraphone is represented here. I mention esteemed Vibraphonist Milt Jackson in the lyrics.

Bubbling Under the Top Ten

Lucy

I wrote this in memory of my good friend Irene's precious Lucy, an adorable Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix.

The Planets

Something a little sciencey with a bit of humor thrown in for good measure.

New Releases

Blackbird Fly

This soulful ballad is based on my short story series Blackbird Fly.

Wit’cha Girl

This is my attempt at a funk tune. Influenced by Earth, Wind and Fire.

Recommended

Into Oblivion

An electronic ode to strength and spirituality. Influenced by Kraftwerk and Gary Numan.

Great post! I can see why Strawberry Jazz is popular, it sounds like ai (not trying to trick us) and its fun! And thanks for introducing that music tool. I asked it to create a song for my hamster, and the pop music it came up with is kinda catchy! -> https://youtube.com/shorts/7EwVfTDSi-o

I will suggest Boogie Town for your Boogie woogie tune. I love the song Blackbird Fly. They are all good and well done with AI vocals all that. Jazz 🌹

This is so cool, Rick! I didn’t know AI can be so good in creating music. “You give me luh-of” is now stuck in my head.
