Why Fall in Love when You can Rock n Roll
I've known for a while now that my taste in music is somewhat different from other people around my age. Most listen to modern music and when it comes to songs that are themed against love it's most likely not rock music they are listening to. Classic rock is an acquired taste, I get that. One thing I think many people can agree on is that rock is not a genre that one would find, let's say, "heartbreaking" songs. It's more about rocking out as hard as possible or as ACDC likes to say being "shook all night long."

The Playlist That Told Valentine's Day to Screw Itself
Once upon a time, there was a young girl that had a terrible curse. Her curse was that every year, her boyfriend would break up with her on or near Valentine's Day and her birthday. It never helped that her birthday was just five days after the wretched holiday.

It's Better to Have Loved and Lost....
I like to consider myself a hopeless romantic so in a way, I do enjoy seeing all the sweet gestures and creative ideas couples come up with on Valentine's day. Nevertheless, it's the endless supply of terrible love ballads that annoy me to no end. I imagine every radio station DJ walks into the studio on the 14th, blows the dust off an old box, and inserts "Valentine's Mix" then throws in some new stuff just for flare. Isn't this holiday supposed to be about going the extra mile? I feel like it's an entire day dedicated to making us relive the nostalgic feeling we would get a 3 a.m. when we heard Celine Dion's "The Power Of Love" playing on the TV. I'm certain someone's dad is digging through an old box looking for that CD right now.

Another Sad Indie Girl (Dying from Cancer) Playlist
1. "In the Lost and Found" (Honky Bach) Elliott Smith When I moved home to West Virginia two summers after I was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer (but really, I was), you were the first guy who responded (like, actually responded intelligently) to my messages on Tinder. After I told you I loved Elliott Smith, you confessed he happened to be one of your favorites as well.

Be My Angry Valentine
When Valentine's Day comes around, only some people's hearts flutter. For others, the day brings angst, anger, and hearts ready for revenge. To celebrate the non-love side of the holiday, here's a playlist that releases the violence of emotion and immerses itself in the break-up. Why wish to be part of a couple when breaking up hurts so bad? Instead rejoice in telling off your former love and remind them of who they lost.
