The Soundtrack of My Year
This writing is for the Writer's Challenge to list a soundtrack for your life over the last year. The song in the heading certainly sums up the year for me. The plus is that it is my own song, engineered by little ol me with my original lyrics as published in one of my 5 poetry books. That may be the only highlight to the worst year ever. I wish I could find some happiness to speak of but the year is not over yet. Do I tread carefully? Not at all. I plunge ahead as always. One year will not break a person but truth be told, this one just might.

2024 Playlist of Lows and Highs
I have always had such an admiration and love for music ever since I was child. I just love how music can tell a person’s story even without the music artist knowing the person that they are writing about. But even people in the music industry will tell their own stories through their songs. I was first taught to sing by someone I loved from my family when I was just a little girl; she may be gone now but her love for me and music continues to live on in me. Music over the years has become my passion and my therapy when I’m battling my internal emotions or dealing with everyday struggles. I will say this that this year has been the most chaotic year of my life where I experienced a lot of lows and highs. I am glad that as this year is finally coming to an end, I’m seeing a lot of light and hope as I am getting ready to make a lot of big changes soon for a better future. But here are a few songs that pretty much got me through so much rough times.

A Year in Music:
As the year comes to a close, I find myself thinking about how music guided me through this season of transformation. In a world filled with noise—opinions, judgments, and countless voices—sometimes real peace comes not from hearing more but from hearing less. My journey this past year was about finding silence in unexpected places, about learning to reset through music without words, and about reconnecting with the inner peace I’d long neglected.

My All Time Favorite Lead Singers and Solo Artists
One of the most influential reasons as to why someone loves a certain band is the lead singer. Maybe they have a distinct voice. Once they start singing, their voice is unmistakable. Maybe they have the uncommon ability to hit all the high and low notes with ease. Doing so is quite a talent after all.

Silence is Golden, Noise is Deadly.
Sound. Whether we like it or not, it permeates every aspect of our lives, from the first morning clock sound to the final quiet sigh before bed. However, sound is more than simply what we can hear—oh no, it has some secret abilities! It has the power to cure our bodies, alter our moods, and even alter the surroundings. The job description for sound would be "Professional Shape-Shifter," as it can be both a soothing lullaby and an annoying annoyance that breaks your eardrums. Let us explore how music, noise, and silence are influencing our lives and the earth in unexpected, enigmatic, and occasionally just plain bothersome ways today—without being too loud.

REVELATION
It was a time of change for McKinnon High School. No mere slaves to long-established convention they had taken the radical step, just in time for my enrolment, of abandoning caps for boys and gloves for girls. Girls still had to wear hats, of course. Who knows what passions might be inflamed in twelve year old cusp-of-adolescents if they encountered liberated hair? Experienced staff members shuddered at this collapse of values, while newer recruits to the ranks of late-60s educators quietly rolled their eyes.

Brequette could've won
I was in a random discussion with a Spanish speaker about this... I don't remember how it came about, ah yes. I heard HĂĄll om mig in the background of a Insta reel and made me remember how fun keeping up with Eurovision was. Then the distant memory of Brequette came back to me.
