Dolly Parton's new album "Rockstar" and tracklist
and her venture into rock and roll music
On Thursday, the 77-year-old country music icon held a press conference in London to discuss her most recent album, Rockstar.
She has worked with well-known people on her debut rock and roll record, including Lizzo, Sir Paul McCartney, and Sir Elton John.
Parton responded, "I think I've left a great body of work behind," when asked about continuing to exist in an artificial form in the future.
"Since I don't want to leave my soul on this world, I have to decide how much of that high-tech stuff I want to be part in.
"I think that with some of this, I'll be permanently grounded here," I'll be here, and we'll work to keep me around.
DOLLY PARTON'S RECENT ARCHIEVEMENTS
Parton was first reluctant to accept the distinction because her roots is in country music, not rock, and she was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.[8] She responded by announcing her plan to include herself in an album of rock covers with a variety of musical guests from that genre. At the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Parton sang her own song "Rockin'".
Several of the artists she performed with at the Hall of Fame ceremony, such as fellow 2022 inductees Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, Simon Le Bon, and Rob Halford, as well as other guests Pink, Brandi Carlile, and Sheryl Crow, were among the dream collaborators she contacted over the course of several months and announced.
untry music icon Dolly Parton spoke with Dave Berry this morning on his Absolute Radio breakfast show to mark the impending release of her rock album "Rockstar."
On Friday, November 17, 2023, "Rockstar," which will be released, will have a whopping 30 songs, nine of which were written by Dolly herself, as well as a buffet of versions of well-known rock songs.
Dolly's rendition of The Beatles' "Let It Be" with Paul McCartney on co-vocals and piano, Ringo Starr on drums, Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood, and guitar legend Peter Frampton is surely one of the highlight collaborations.
Dolly recounted to Dave the history of the 'Let It Be' all-star cover throughout the conversation.
"I've adored that song forever,"
Rockstar includes nine original songs and 21 well-known rock anthems.
The album is due for release on November 17 2023. By Butterfly Records and Big Machine Records. The album is a collaborative project with a variety of rock musicians, marking Parton's first foray into that genre.
