🤡Clowns🤡
A Playlist Of Songs Featuring 🤡Clowns🤡

Introduction
I haven't done much in BEAT for a bit, and despite being a Top Creator in the community, I have not had a Top Story for years, despite getting a lot of reads outside of Vocal, but they don't seem to like my taste in music any more, I am obviously too good for them 🤡.
For some reason, I thought I would do a playlist of songs which mention clowns in their title. Some are good, some are great, and some are not so.
These are songs I know and are in my collection, so there will probably be many that I miss, but you can let me know.
The final one I have used in other stories and playlists, and it is my favourite clown song.
So let's set off on this playlist.
David Cassidy - "I Am A Clown"
A hit in the seventies, and I thought it was dross then, and listening once more, I thought maybe I would give it a chance. No, it is still bloody awful, but it is out of the way now.
Judy Collins - "Send In The Clowns"
Older than the David Cassidy song and so much better, a sad beauty, covered by many artists, including Frank Sinatra and U2. This is one you can listen to safely.
The Everly Brothers - "Cathy's Clown"
A superb teenage breakup song from almost before I was born. Spot on vocal harmonies. Written by Don Everly, and it was apparently recorded in a single take.
Smokey Robinson and The Miracles - "Tears Of A Clown"
Another gorgeous break-up song, and we've all been there. It starts with an extremely upbeat sequence before hitting you in the face with the reality of the situation. Always been a favourite of mine throughout all my musical phases.
Emeli Sandé - Clown
I find this far too low-key, but Emeli Sandé is a great artist, and I am sure that many people love this song.
Manfred Mann - "Ha Ha Said The Clown"
This is pure nineteen-sixties, but still a great listen, mixing light-heartedness with some darkish undertones.
Shakira - "Costume Makes The Clown"
This is quite heavy. I did not know it before I made this playlist, but I do now.
Placebo - "Pierrot The Clown"
This is very creepy and dark, and very Placebo. Another lost relationship. I do find it strange that clowns are meant to make people laugh, but in reality, they scare a lot of people, and almost all the songs on this playlist are laced with darkness.
Elvis Costello and The Attractions - "Clown Time Is Over"
This is one of many great songs on the album "Get Happy" (possibly my favourite album of theirs. The song is sad, but I am not sure what the title refers to. Maybe you've had your fun, now it gets serious.
Warren Zevon - "Something Bad Happened To A Clown"
Warren doesn't specify what happened, but the last three songs in this list, the clowns don't come out of it very well.
Dave Davies - "Death Of A Clown"
This is my second favourite clown song, Dave Davies, brother of Ray and both members of The Kinks, and this stands well with Ray's compositions. A definite timeless classic, the words and feelings are amazing. If you haven't heard this, listen to it now.
Graham Parker - "They Murdered The Clown"
The lyrics and feeling are similar to those of the Dave Davies song, but for me, this is even better. Some of the situations are a bit dark, but still, in my opinion, a great song.
Thank you for reading and listening, and I hope you found something that you enjoyed.
