why do we hiccup
[Music] oh little kitty you are having hiccups try some cold water first thank you doctor oh kitty no worries at all hey friends I am sure just like kitty at some point all of us must be interrupted by this noise coming out of our mouth called hiccups which could be a bit irritating and embarrassing at times I remember long ago when I was baby by Knox I participated in a poetry competition at my school there were hundreds of eyes staring at me as I stood on stage nervously shivering with fear and as soon as I opened my mouth [Music] the entire hall burst into laughter as I left the room feeling embarrassed but I didn't give up on that day I decided to learn about hiccups and what causes it and I am going to share that with you all today so let's zoom in so what causes hiccups well the most common cause of hiccups are eating and drinking too fast but there are other factors such as swallowing air or intense emotions such as crying laughing stress and excitement can be the reason behind those jerky sound effects but what happens during hiccups well the main culprit behind you getting hiccups is the diaphragm a dome-shaped muscle at the bottom of your chest that we use to inhale and exhale air but sometimes the diaphragm gets annoyed and spasms that cause us to take a quick breath affair the sudden rush of air causes the glottis a flap inside your vocal cords to shut abruptly stopping the air from entering the windpipe and reaching the lungs thus creating that annoying noise most of the times the hiccups go on its own but sometimes it gets tough to get rid of it and we try various remedies like drinking a glass of cold water or gargling with it holding a breath pulling our tongue breathing into a paper bag or getting suddenly [Music] scared oh sorry but despite all the efforts for curing hiccups there is no guarantee that any one of these temporary solutions works better than the other or will surely help to stop your hiccups trivia time did you know that the longest case of hiccups lasted for 68 years a guy named Charles Osborne began to hiccup in 1922 after a 350 pound hog fell on him and damaged a small part of his brain that inhibits the hiccup response he was cured after 68 long years thus inducting his name in the Guinness world record book for the longevity of hiccups [Applause] another dramatic case of the hiccups occurred in 2007 when Jennifer me of Florida hiccupped over 50 times per minute for around 35 days straight before the hiccups went away it's question time today's question is what do you call the dome shaped muscle at the bottom of your chest that we use to inhale and exhale air do write in your answer in the comments section below and hit the like button and get a chance to get it featured by the end of our videos also do not forget to subscribe to our channel if you haven't yet to be a part of the peekaboo family so here are the winners of the previous episode hope you enjoyed today's episode and until next time it's me Doctor zooming out oh never mind hey kids you liked my videos didn't you before you go don't forget to click on the subscribe button and the bell so you won't miss out on my latest videos see you you

Causes endometriosis
hey everyone this lesson is on endometriosis so we're going to talk about what endometriosis is we're also going to talk about some of these signs and symptoms how it's diagnosed and how it's treated so what is endometriosis so endometriosis is a gynecological condition involving the presence of endometrial tissue or endometrial mucosal cells in abnormal locations so what this really means is that this endometrial tissue is outside of the uterus it should be in the uterus in the endometrium but it's in other areas where it should not be this condition affects approximately 10 to 15 percent of reproductive aged females so it affects a good portion of individuals and it has a lot of consequences including a lot of symptoms we're going to talk about in the next upcoming slides but also affects fertility in patients and it causes impaired fertility in about 30 to 40 percent of patients who have this condition so it affects a significant portion of patients both with regards to signs and symptoms and with regards to other complications including impaired fertility so what is the pathophysiology of endometriosis we talked about the endometrial tissue or the endometrial mucosa being in places where it should not be but why does this happen well it's actually hypothesized that endometrial cells traverse or travel to other areas of the body during menstruation so during menstruation when the endometrium is slopped off it is believed that cells escape and go to other locations including the surrounding areas of the pelvis some get into the fallopian tubes and some cells get into the ovaries and other places in the body as well we're going to talk about some of these locations later on when we talk about diagnosing endometriosis so now that we've talked about what it is and how it happens what does it actually do what are some of the signs and symptoms of endometriosis one of the biggest and one of the most significant symptoms of endometriosis that patients suffer from is pain and it can be pain in certain parts of the body but it can also be pain during certain activities we're going to talk about them here so the first one is pelvic pain so pelvic pain is a significant issue for patients with endometriosis and this pain fluctuates in intensity throughout the menstrual cycle so because the endometrial cells respond to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle certain times of the menstrual cycle lead to worsening of pain so it can be a cyclical type of pain we can also see issues with pain in the lower abdomen groin and back so it can be in a wide variety of locations you can also see dysmenorrhea so very painful menstrual cramping so if it's very painful or very severe type pain or if the pain worsens each menstrual cycle over time this can be an indication that a patient may be suffering from endometriosis we can also see issues with dysperunia so pain during intercourse we can also see issues of pain while urinating and pain while exercising so this can be very debilitating for patients so again pelvic pain pain in the lower abdomen groin and back dysmenorrhea dysperunia pain while urinating in pain while exercising so a lot of different areas where pain can affect an individual now there are other signs and symptoms of endometriosis as well these include heavy or irregular bleeding during menstruation dyskeysia so constipation-like symptoms and bloating nausea and vomiting so patients oftentimes have very significant pain but also some of these other signs and symptoms as well including heavier irregular bleeding discussions of constipation and bloating nausea and vomiting so a lot of different signs and symptoms that can have a significant impact in one's life so now that we know the signs and symptoms of endometriosis how do clinicians diagnose and treat it so the diagnosis of endometriosis often involves laparoscopy so a lot of times because these endometrial cells travel into many different locations oftentimes laparoscopy is required so opening up the abdomen and looking in different areas within the abdominal cavity to see where these endometrial cells have actually traveled to so some of the locations that we can see these endometrial cells occurring include the ovaries as we mentioned before the posterior cul-de-sac broad ligament so some of the surrounding tissues within the pelvis that support the uterus you can also see it in the uterus sacral ligament we can also see the endometrial cells attaching to the rectosigmoid colon bladder and distal ureters so again these endometrial cells can spread into different locations so a lot of times we need laparoscopy to see where these cells have traveled to and histology can also be performed as well to actually see whether the tissue is actually endometrial in nature so histology will show endometrial glands and stroma so once endometriosis has been diagnosed how do clinicians treat it a lot of times combined oral contraceptive pills can be used to actually help reduce symptoms so it can help regulate the menstrual cycle and as mentioned before a lot of the pain involved in endometriosis is due to endometrial cells and endometrial tissue responding to the hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle so having something regulating the menstrual cycle for patients can help with those symptoms so combined oral contraceptive pills danazole can also be used to treat endometriosis clinicians may also use gonadotropin-releasing hormone or gnrh analog so using these gnrh analogues can essentially shut down the pulsatile nature of dnrh and cause a reduction in pituitary induced fluctuations in other hormones like estrogen and then in some cases surgery may also be required in order to actually remove the endometrial tissue from certain parts of the body some of those locations we talked about before so again diagnosis involves laparoscopy looking for where endometrial tissue may have traveled to histology can be used to confirm that that is in fact endometrial tissue by seeing endometrial glands and stroma treatment involves combined oral contraceptive pills to help regulate the menstrual cycle in these individuals anazole can be used gonadotropin releasing hormone analogs can also be used and in some cases surgery will be required so if you want more information on other gynecological conditions please check out my playlist on those topics and if you haven't already please consider liking subscribing and clicking the notification bell help support the channel and stay up to date on future lessons thanks much for watching and i hope to see you next time

tobacco effects
What happens if you are an Alcohol and/or Tobacco addict? Alcohol Alcohol is a powerful drug. It contains Ethanol, the most common type of alcohol that helps to reduce tension and inhibition in a person. It works by dilating small blood vessels near the skin hence causing the person to become red. warm and feel comfortable. Initially, the alcohol affects the brain's motor center, cerebellum and the medulla oblongata resulting in a person's poor coordination and balance, sluggish reflexes, change in behavior, and loss of memory slowing of speech, increased rate of heartbeat and breathing. Large amounts of alcohol can even lead to coma or death. Long-term effects for the alcohol addicts include malnutrition and damage to heart muscles, stomach disorders like ulcers and gastritis, the liver is not able to detoxify blood or process nutrients due to liver disease other medicines interact negatively with alcohol so any side medication can be harmful. Social and personal problems in life are likely to happen due to the addiction. If consumed during pregnancy, fetal abnormalities and miscarriages can occur such as reduced physical and mental development, mental retardation, birth defects. Driving while intoxicated is illegal worldwide. Alcohol consumption slows reflex time and blurs the vision of the driver. This would then lead to an overall poor judgment of the driver, resulting in fatal road accidents. Tobacco Tobacco smoking is habit-forming. The smoke drawn into the lung consists of nicotine, carbon monoxide, tar and other harmful substances. This is why there is a strong link between the act of smoking and respiratory diseases. Nicotine is a stimulant found commonly in tobacco and is responsible for causing most of the chemical changes in the body. Short-term effects of tobacco smoking include an increased heart rate and blood pressure. Tar in the smoke affects the mucus membranes of respiratory systems. This is why smokers cough because they try to clear their respiratory tract. Carbon monoxide damages the lining of blood vessels while increasing fatty deposits on the walls. Nicotine causes blood vessels to constrict which leads to heart diseases. In small amounts, it stimulates the adrenal gland to be active. Smokers may feel nervous and tense for no reason. New smokers can experience nicotine poisoning, whose symptoms include dizziness, vomiting, clammy skin and even fainting spells. The long-term use of tobacco smoking can cause breathing problems like bronchitis, asthma, emphysema, heart disease and lung cancer. Emphysema causes thinning or destruction of alveoli in our lungs. Tar stains teeth and fingers and can deposit in the lungs, leading to growth of cancerous cells. Other chemical irritants in the smoke cause narrowing of air passages. Smoke addiction may lead to social and personal problems. If the addicts are pregnant women, babies are smaller at birth and there is an increased risk of miscarriage, stillbirth and infant death.

the fountain that divided the world
[Music] and Now for Something Completely Different hi welcome to stories of art my name is today I want to tell you the story of one of the controversies in art it is the story about this the fountain it was signed by R Mutt and I'm sure you've seen it or think you've seen it because very few people have ever seen the original but I'll get to that in a minute it's an object that has divided opinion for over a century now and whether you like it or not it became quite influential in the development of modern art in the mid 20th century in fact it's one of those Works where you can say it is truly iconic everybody seems to know it and still today many people have strong opinions about it some see it as part of the movements that freed art from its former constraints that is to say it made much of what later became conceptual art possible and others maintain that this is nonsense that a five-year-old could make and frankly both of these can be seen as valid points so I thought it would be a good idea to tell you the story behind it and go over the many controversies about it and there are many of those in fact in the last few years a new one has emerged but I'll get to that later in the video but hopefully by the end of this video you will have gained an understanding of this work of the opinions about it and maybe an appreciation for those who hold the opposite view of yours in this debate let's start at the beginning though this object work of art its story starts outside of itself it starts with an exhibition in New York in 1917 there was to be an exhibition it was organized by the Society of Independent Artists that had been formed about a year earlier now they in turn had been inspired by an earlier French group called The Society de artiste independent and they had been formed in 1884. now they had been formed as a reaction to the official Salon in Paris those had been those large exhibitions where you could enter works of art but only if you were an artist and only if you were a member of the Art Academy the academic de it and then only if you pass the selection committee that determined whether or not the quality of your work was satisfactory and the purpose of these exhibitions to many people was that there will be prizes given out by a jury now the associative artist independent tried a different approach they held exhibitions where anyone could enter a work if they paid an entry fee and in New York they wanted to copy this process and so they founded the Society of Independent Artists to have an exhibition on those very same principles the idea was that it was more democratic the audience was to decide whether or not something was suitable or was good art not some panel of so-called experts and then a jury the Americans even went so far as to decide that they would not place the artwork in any sort of categories or any sort of order artwork wouldn't even be sorted by type like sculpture or painting instead they would be presented simply placed in an exhibition Hall in alphabetical order based on the name of the artist the the last name so there was a group of people involved in society

when you log into your computer or website or anything that requires a password hopefully that password is stored in a database in some location some way in an encrypted fashion maybe it's a hash maybe it's anything but it's not plain text if a hacker threat actor adversary would gain access to that password as it's raw plain text form that could certainly be an issue but in some cases maybe even just a hash is enough for a hacker to crack the hash and then gain access to the account and access in this video I'm going to Showcase three ways where we can put our hacker hat on act as the adversary and then crack a password hash brute force or guest passwords or maybe even pass the hash in some other attacks let's dive in I'm inside of my Kali Linux virtual machine and this is going to be our attacker HQ this is where most of the operations are going to happen but I do want to let you know hey I've got another Linux server Linux host Linux computer up with Ubuntu alongside a Windows machine that will be able to go ahead and beat up in just a moment but back inside of Kali Linux I'm going to open up the terminal click that icon on the top or hit Ctrl alt t on the keyboard and I'm going to zoom in on this terminal here because first of all I want to show you what my IP address is I'm going to go ahead and say the IP Command and a for the shorthand for Adder like address s for the shorthand for show and then the interface that I want to look at in this case I'm going to look at eth0 and it currently has the IP address of 192.168.1166 now that's us that's our Kali Linux machine that's our attack box that's where we're going to be doing the hacking and Kraken over here on the victim machine the target the Ubuntu box let me fire up another terminal I'll go ahead and run the exact same command just so we can kind of get a lay of the land here then Ubuntu usually the interface is now E ns 33 I'll go ahead and take a look at the IP address that is 192.168.1129 now let's say as the attacker from the Kali Linux offensive perspective we don't know any passwords for this Ubuntu machine that we're trying to break into maybe we knew you a username we were able to profile some accounts or some employees or people that use this machine but we still need to try and figure out their password one way you could do that is just kind of guess like I don't know try every single possible letter in the English alphabet every single number every single printable character on the keyboard like the letter A then the letter A A and then the letter a a b and a a c a a d t kind of keep moving down the list to try and generate every possible potential possibility let's try it out see this Ubuntu machine does have SSH or the secure shell running as a service so we could try to SSH into the user at 192.168.1129 It'll ask me further password but I don't know their password so I could try like the letter a and then that won't work for us let's try the letter A A maybe two A's there is a combination doesn't work either
