God's Lessons
Sometimes what you think you want and what you need are two different things. Saying goodbye is never easy. Moving on is never simple. To let someone into the deepest parts of your soul only to eventually let them go is the hardest thing you’ll ever have to repeatedly do. It’s never the same. It never gets easier. It hurts. Even when you think that the ties are severed, only when all is lost do you realize how much you still have left to let go. The pain can be unbearable but the tears will dry and the agony will subside.

Earning My Strips
My foot on the back of the tiger’s neck, I can’t let up. The pressure applied is keeping me alive. But my legs are shaking. This level of stress is hard to sustain. My knees are starting to give way and my peace is going with it. Anxiety steps in. I’m losing ground. My mind, once quiet with determination, is starting to shift focus to the growls beneath my petite size 8. Such a small amount of surface for such large shoes to fill.

Flying Solo
Sitting in a window seat, watching the clouds pass me by. Worries of the world fall away one cumulus at a time. The skies part just long enough to see the rays of hope shine through like a message from God. Things are going to be alright. As if to say this decision that seems impulsive to you is ordained by me. Keep going. Push forward. I am walking with you.
