The lessons must be learned.

Sometimes what you think you want and what you need are two different things. Saying goodbye is never easy. Moving on is never simple. To let someone into the deepest parts of your soul only to eventually let them go is the hardest thing you’ll ever have to repeatedly do. It’s never the same. It never gets easier. It hurts. Even when you think that the ties are severed, only when all is lost do you realize how much you still have left to let go. The pain can be unbearable but the tears will dry and the agony will subside.

Most things in life aren’t forever but it all happens for a reason. God puts people and events in your life just when you need them. At first, you may not understand why they are there. As the time goes on, and the lessons reveal themselves you get some clarification of why it happened at all. Some people are put into your life to teach you how to love. They will either show you how to love yourself or someone else. Sometimes you need a person to help you get to know yourself. You never learn your likes or dislikes until they are presented to you. You must try new things to experience what they are all about. Not just what they appear to be. God does that for you. Through the people he allows you to encounter. Through the things he allows you to endure. They all make you, YOU.

When you need a shoulder to lean on, he introduces you to someone with open arms. When you don’t love yourself, he shows you someone with love to give. And when you lose motivation, he puts ambition at your door. You must learn from these people and understand that although they aren’t forever, they are right on time. Lessons are to be learned from. Once they are mastered you move on to the next one. Eventually, once you learn yourself you’ll be able to recognize the person that he gives to you to compliment your life.

Some lessons take longer to learn than others. You exert more of yourself, making it harder to leave once the time has presented itself. Some people get so comfortable with the course, they never want to graduate. They never want to rise to a greater personal level so they stay in the position wondering why it’s a dead end. It’s because you’ve gained all that God had intended for you to take away from the experience but afraid of what else the world has to offer. You hold on to what you have TODAY because tomorrow is unknown. But thou shall not fear the unknown because though there’s a risk of pain, there’s also a chance for pleasure.

Be hopeful for tomorrow. You have grown and are more prepared for the challenges. You have more experience handling defeat and more courage to fight for success. And as for love, never let love lost prevent you from lending yourself to the opportunity to be happy. Though you may have cried, you’ve also smiled. Though it hurts, you’ve also experienced the highest highs. And that is worth enduring all the pain again.
