Boxed In
The loud booming music shook the floor from upstairs, sending vibrations throughout the entire house. Carmen looked over at Kyle and, without saying a word, shook her head in frustration. Carmen had just about enough of the noise, so she got up from the loveseat in the living room and made her way into the kitchen to cook. Kyle understood his wife's irritation, he too, was fed up with the racket coming from Simone's room.

Slice of Humble Cake
"What's up, bro? Where you headed off to so fast, come here!" Erick demanded. The young boy froze up in fright from the sound of Eric's voice but couldn't find the courage to turn around and face him. "Little man, you deaf? I said, come here! Don't make me have to call you again", Eric threatened. Eric was accompanied by two of his friends, who took delight in the young student's apprehension. "Look at him; he's about to wet his pants," one of Eric's friends teased. "Just turn around, kid," the other friend advised.

Michaela
Vel found herself in an abandoned office building. She briefly looked around to see laptops in cubicles turned over onto the floor among the debris. As she peered out the window at the dull grey sky directly in front of her, she noticed that she was on one of the higher floors of the building. In an instant, the walls that circled her and the floor beneath began to shake. Vel backed up, looking towards her left through the many windows and in between the other abandoned buildings off in the distance. Vel's eyes grew wide as she made out what was approaching her, a tornado engulfing buildings in its path nearing the very building she was in. As the tornado got closer, this massive size of chaos sent Vel into a panic. She looked and to her right was an office closet. Vel didn't hesitate; she retreated and ran straight for it. Once inside, she closed the door shut and jumped to the floor as she prayed for protection. The rumblings around her became more violent as seconds passed. She could hear things on the outside of the closet door smashing into walls as well as fixtures falling from above. She closed her eyes while balling up into a fetal position and prayed that the destruction approaching might spare her and pass to another building.
