Flittering Stars
In memory of those we've lost, whether we knew them or not, remember them or not. They are stars in the skies. Glittering above, shinning within the dark, lighting up within a constant grief that was left behind. In their wake, we look for a new way to see them, remember them. The stars that flitter in the sky is where we look. Guiding the curiosity and wonderment of children while fulfilling the solemn and sadly sweet memories of those below.

-Oriana My mind was silent, my senses heightened, I was in my own little reverie. Surrounded by dimming light in the distance, I could hear rhythmic droplets in it, and a light breeze picking up. I could feel everything melding together, in their own little pockets; like another set of chakras.

Heavy Shadows
The autumn air bit at her exposed cheeks as her footfalls hit hard against the pavement. With her car in the shop and that bill soon looming in the back of her mind Larkyn knew she had to spend the money she had wisely. The sun had set long ago and Wyatt, her long-time friend had asked where she had been. The corner store with one flickering lamppost wasn’t too far from the rinky-dink little apartment they shared. The little apartment was leagues better for her little brother Cassian than the abusive household-they ran from. It was a beautiful house sure but on the inside, just stepping through the threshold anyone could feel the tension, the anger, the sorrow.

A Surprise
A little over 18 years ago, I was 3 my brother was 6. We were living in Stockton, CA and my parents decided that we were going to get a cat. my dad took us to pick our new furry friend. We get to the adoption center, and we start looking at cats, my dad letting us 'awe' and stare at each cute furry thing. It was while looking at these furry felines that, I in my 3 years of age turn around and see this lone fluffy black pup. He was being looked at by another family.

Lights On
Sophomore year of high school I had freshly joined the school's theater program, I was new to acting in front of an actual audience, but not acting in itself. We were on our last day of Hell Week, meaning we were running rehearsals from right after school till 9 pm. Running rehearsals in full costumes, testing our queues, using our props, and checking our marks, was a lot.
