The assassin and the poppies
The assassin leapt from rooftop to rooftop, her footing sure as she nimbly ran, jumped, landed and ran again. The night was dark and the streets were at their quietest. Her plan was simple, in and out, pick up her money and on to the sailboat currently anchored on the horizon.

What have you bought now?
The woman behind the counter at the post office was in a foul mood that day. I gave her my slip and asked her how her day was. She grunted and walked off to get whatever had arrived then handed me a rectangular shaped brown paper package with something hard in it and addressed to my husband.

As I stood and looked around my heart felt heavy. My life was falling apart and I walked into my 'craft room' and claustrophobia enveloped me, crushing me. Tears streamed down my face and I rubbed my chest feeling like maybe my heart had actually ceased to beat.

The tipping of the Libra scales
I don’t follow the stars which is surprising as I’m a witch, but my scientific mind just can’t accept that stars thousands of light years apart that look vaguely like a shape from Earth can impact our personalities. That little contradiction in me does, unfortunately, sound like a typical Libra trait.
